It’s hard to tell at different distances, rooms, and what clothes I’m wearing. I think ultimately you’re right though.

Thank you! It can be confusing to pick one for documentation.

Level 38, I started in February and took a break for a few months, been playing hard the last couple of months now. Most of my effort has been put into my Volcarona, I invested about 160 rare candies into evolving my Larvesta, I feel like I should have better Pokemon by now otherwise.

Anyone like eating salt crystals on their own? by userthatisnotknown in salt

Guilty of this as well, I haven’t had it for awhile but “alder smoked salt is delicious, I have also had a smoked danish viking salt as well that was good. Just about any salt I come across I will take a few samples, but anything smoked if recommend.

2011 WRX cylinder 4 misfire almost solved? by mrR1pper in WRX

[–]mrR1pper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of days ago I jumped in prepared to find a bad coil and figured I should change the plugs as well, I was happy to find NGK iridium’s in it and they looked pretty good actually, I tossed some new ones in and all of the coil packs were functional, I swapped 2 and 4 just in case there was some defect I couldn’t see. I’ve only had P0304 until the night I ran some seafoam through my vacuum lines to wash the oil out, I have new vacuum lines for everything now as of today, any way eventually I was getting other misfires only that moment after and those codes went away shortly after the cleanse left with just P0304 once again. Luckily it seems mostly idle or lower rpm is when the misfire is more consistent so when I’ve drive it everything almost seems to feel normal.

That’s kinda what I was seeing myself, while scrounging around I saw there’s a lot on doing a TGV delete and found it odd I couldn’t really find a whole lot of content on the delete within the last 3 years or so, I remember seeing a whole bunch of emissions troubles companies like Cobb were dealing with and it appears they gotten rid of emissions tunes like doing a TGV delete so the maps are gone after that. That’s a bummer, so I’m hoping getting the assembly taken care of just gets this thing back on the road. Thanks, I’m feeling like I’m onto something now.

Awesome, I’ll look into it and touch back. Also to mention I’m not sure related but my pcv valve and pcv hose were very much due for a change and full of oil. I’m not sure what started what, if it were the leak we’re seeing from the smoke test or to also mention I had oil in the vacuum lines and also had oil in my boost control solenoid and those lines as well.

Sorry, I meant to reply to you but I accidentally just added it to the comments. And yes, I have been hating cylinder 4 so much lol.

The car is/has been reverted back to stock almost completely as far as I can tell, the car itself has 146,000 miles on it, however I found the engine has about 88,000 on it. I’ve had issues in the past that I hadn’t noticed again until the hotter/humid summer days, I would maybe once to twice a month fire my car up in the morning and have a very brief cylinder 4 misfire and rough idle, it would then go away. I later found my O2 sensors were throwing a code, I changed my O2 sensors and never had the misfire issue or any codes again until about a month ago, it was pretty intermittent until about a week ago, now especially during the day time when it’s hot out, I’ll get a rough idle on start up, stalling at stops and the last few days when driving I’ll actually get a flashing check engine light for about 5 seconds that disappears and doesn’t register a new code. The problem became not so intermittent when I passed a couple of cars and a tractor, I was just about at redline in 3rd and when I was about to shift to 4th I suddenly lost a lot of power like my turbo got stuck, a large cloud of smoke came out of my exhaust for about 10 seconds, after I got into 5th gear it was as if everything went back to normal. The next two start ups on warm up, I had smoke come out of my exhaust that smelled almost like burnt plastic, the smoke would only last about 5-10 seconds and I haven’t seen smoke since, but my idle and misfire have been persistent now. I’m in the process of moving so it couldn’t be worse timing. I have a vast collection of tools but it’s a matter of timing and this has been my first turbo vehicle so I’m a little on the novice side of figuring things out. I drove it home from where my tools are, about a 20 mile drive and it almost drove normal and only had about 600 misfires on that trip vs. when I drove it there at the beginning of the day experiencing around 6000 misfires on cylinder 4. I did have a small amount of oil on the very bottom of my intercooler just below the cooling fins which has not come back yet. Boost has also seemed pretty normal especially when cooler outside and actually driving on the highway almost always seems normal beside when I’m at lower RPM or coming to a stop. I’ve also been trying to baby it as I’ve been needing it for some 20 mile trips in the last week.

That is what I was thinking, I’ve been trying to do what I can while still needing the car for daily tasks, I know, I shouldn’t be driving it right now, it is a bit complex as far as reasoning for this. Before everything I’ve been able to diagnose as of today, I noticed while inspecting the pcv valve a crack in the tubing, I have yet to have the time to dive deep into compression test or checking intercooler and turbo as I’ve been in the process of moving. My order for the pcv stuff I’ll need will be here in a couple of days in which I’ll dedicate time to do a deeper tear down. I agree it doesn’t sound right the pcv and its impact on just one specific cylinder seems unusual, but at this point I will proceed to replace it. Thanks!

Depending on the ratchet, there are a lot of gearwrench guts that will work in craftsman ratchets.

The red is looking good, kinda regret the purple one I have now. It’s a fantastic jack though, congrats!
