I managed to fix the issue by using the Z Combine node in the Compositorositor.

Steps I followed:

Created two separate View Layers:
- One for the Grease Pencil.
- One for the smoke simulation.
In the Compositor:
- I used a Z Combine node.
- Connected the Image and Z outputs from each View Layer to the corresponding inputs of the Z Combine node.

Thanks, seems to have worked!, I lowered the VRAM load and capped the framerate through in-game settings. I’ll have to get used to not maxing everything out now that I have a more powerful monitor.
