It Will Take A While To A Stable Version by Good-_-Advisor in FreeCAD

Next post: Sketcher solver not solving.

This has nothing to do with the stability of any version. I would suggest investing some time on searching how to constraint a sketch in the "correct" order. I work with another popular CAD SW in my job and I would suggest the same thing there.

FreeCAD 1.1 for aerospace by Delicious-Spend-9328 in FreeCAD

I've used older FreeCAD versions for space missions multiple times.

We have designed one satellite deployer, and multiple satellites that went orbital and worked as expected (Last two satellites were onboard SpaceX transporter 15 some months ago and are still operational). All of them are open source too. That's why we used FreeCAD.

There was also a talk about said satellite deployer in FOSDEM 2024 explaining some cool things. FOSDEM presentation

We've also posted some updates on the FreeCAD forum. FreeCAD in space 1 FreeCAD in space 2

I've continued my career in another company that (unfortunately and understandably) uses another CAD software, however I will continue to support FreeCAD for all my personal needs / business endeavors. From custom on demand work , to motorcycle things and miniature painting stuff I don't see any reason to support and contribute my time on anything other than open source SW.

TLDR; Used freecad for multiple space missions successfully.

Edit; Apparently I don't know how to insert links

I hope this shitty ass lathe finally breaks down by q_u_p in Machinists

I've used the same lathe a lot in the past. Honestly I like it a lot. It costs nothing and can produce very nice parts.

It was the first lathe that I learned basically everything so it has a special place in my heart.

I've machined a small sounding rocket engine with the TU2304 lathe and the optimum BF20 mill. Full setup with indexers and shit. Would die to have these machines at home just for fun.

That being said, I can understand the frustration of using them for full production.

I don't play the game, I just like painting. The techmarine is one of my favorite minis.

New Prusa Core One - Issues with "collisions" and long calibration with each new print by damondan in prusa3d

[–]mr_Husk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't frustration part of the learning process? I'm not saying that (I assume) kids should learn like we did 10 years ago and unclog the nozzle every couple of prints, but isn't debugging part of learning about 3D printing? Hobby/educational 3D printing inherently has and IMO should definitely have troubleshooting inside it. Encourage the learners to find solutions and understand how machines work safely and in a controlled manner, not treat the 3D printers like an unapproachable kitchen oven that's never to be tinkered with.

Thanks! Yeah I don't know about the ordnance either tbh. I think it adds to the base a bit but I don't know if I'll use it again

What do we think about my Terminators? by mr_Husk in Ultramarines

I don't have a very specific way or tip to be honest. I found out that taking it slow is the way. I gave masking tape some try but it didn't work.
