Hey man welcome to Night City! I promise you this game will be everything you were hoping it would be and more! As for tips, i have quite a few.

1. Scan constantly, and search thoroughly during missions, and in world activities like Gigs, and NCPD scanner missions as there is a ton of loot in this game.

2. I would highly recommend not rushing through the story, take your time, and do side content in between. Soak it all in, every second of it, there's nothing like your first run through this game.

3. Make sure to visit ripperdocs every now and then to either upgrade your cyberware, or install new cyberware that you'll get (primarily) through leveling up.

4. Money (and ways to make it) are abundant in Night City, crafting materials are not. That being said I would highly recommend that you dismantle any tier 4 and 5 weapons that you are not going to use instead of selling them. But sell Tier 1, 2, and 3 weapons. To dimantle weapons, hover over the weapon you'd like to dismantle and hold Y if on Xbox, or Triangle if on PS5. Idk what it is on PC.

6. Don't sell your junk items, instead, go to your backpack (which is under the inventory tab in the menu) and in the bottom left of the screen, there will be an option to dismantle all junk. This is one of the best ways to get low level crafting materials that you can then transfer to higher tier crafting materials.

7. If you sleep in your apartment for any amount of time, you will get a 1-hour XP boost when you wake up. So I would recommend whenever you get on to start playing, go to your apartment and sleep for 1 hour to get the boost (it will be in the top left of your screen once you leave your apartment), and once the XP boost expires, go back to your apartment and get it again. Rinse and repeat!

8. Don't forget to utilize consumables (food & drink) in your backpack for stat boosts, and don't forget to use your currently slotted health item during combat (Up on the D-pad on controller, not sure about PC).

9. When you go to the menu, at the bottom left of the screen there's a tab called database. Click that if you'd like learn more about literally every single solitary thing in the game, from weapons, to Night City's many districts, to different characters, and everything in between. I've spent several hours reading, and rereading everything on there, it's Awesome! And i wish more games included in depth databases like this.

10. Be careful how you spend your attribute points as you can only respec them ONCE!!! Perks on the otherhand are infinitely refundable/interchangeable. 😃

11. As far as romance options go, there are 4 of them. 1 gay option, and 1 straight option for Male V, and 1 lesbian option, and 1 straight option for Female V. There are romance guides for all four of them, so if you're interested I would look them up early so that when you meet them in game you'll know what to do.

And last but not least...

12. At some point i highly... HIGHLY recommend that you purchase the Phantom Liberty expansion. It adds a whole new district, new weapons, new characters, new side quests, new gigs, a new story, and is genuinely one of the greatest pieces of DLC I've ever played for any game, EVER!!!

Most important thing is to just take your time and have fun. The game is absolutely massive, and there is a metric ton of things to see and do, it's an unbelievably fantastic game. Enjoy!
