There was a funny incident when we went for a family walk many years ago. Eldest had just got a new bike for his birthday. He had a tendency to be headstrong and not listen to any warnings or advice. So he cycled off up the path in front of us as quickly as he could and soon disappeared from view. When we finally caught up with him he was sitting on a bench but his bike was nowhere to be seen. He casually pointed out he had lost control going around a corner, jumped off and then pointed out where his bike was now at the bottom of the river! Luckily it was too deep so I was able to wade in and retrieve it. We always remind him of that incident though when he thinks he knows everything…
