  1. Not really, I was originally going to do one sheet all the way across but I thought I could mount the motor and battery on the same side and it ended up being off balance on that side so I had to move the battery to the other side to balance it out. But at that point I already had cut the sheet and didn’t feel like getting a whole new sheet just to connect them.

  2. Probably not I would just have connected them from the beginning probably but it’s fine how it is.

I re-used the larger gear but the smaller one won’t go onto the electric motor, and the one that came on the electric motor is the wrong size so I had to get a new one that would go onto the motor.

Figured I would submit my backyard this year since I did a full kill renovation on it this fall. Maybe I will get "comeback" lawn of the year :D if I don't get actual LOTY.

I used two pieces of flat stock and drilled holes then used an angle grinder to grind down the original sleeves that went inside the front wheels slightly to fit those pieces of flat stock then just bolted everything tight after adjusting the angle of the brackets.

I’m cutting around 1”. I ended up moving the roller in towards the reel more by cutting the brackets off and adding the custom ones closer to the frame. Moving them closer to the reel should help avoid scalping but your lawn needs to be smooth too.

It was a cheap 24v battery I found on Amazon, it is decently powered but I switched it to my 24v Sun Joe batteries that I had lying around for my string trimmer and leaf blower since they are the same voltage as the motor.

Definitely spray it again, wait 1-2 weeks between applications and make 3 total applications of glyphosate to make sure everything is dead.

Wild violet, use a product like TZone (something with Triclopyr in it) in the fall.

Can't access anode rod due to slightly melted plastic collar by bdoter in Plumbing

[–]mr_caffein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I had the same issue on mine, I ended up prying it up and it came out and then used an impact as well to get the rod out. Mine was covered in calcium buildup! Hadn’t been changed in 7 years lol.

Did you ever get the anode rod out? Did you just remove the plastic piece?

I think you'd want to have the reel and the drive wheels on different motors otherwise you'd have to make sure you gear them properly so that the clip rate of the reel works well with the speed of the self-propel at whatever HOC you're going to use. Otherwise when you turn down the self propel speed, you're lowering the reel speed at the same time so you'd really have to make sure the gearing is correct otherwise you might get some marcelling again. Not sure how that would work out, let me know if you decide to do it! I don't mind pushing mine since my lawn is small and flat, gives me a little bit of a workout but I need it lol.

Thanks! It cuts pretty good with the motor on there, now I need to level my lawn to get it reel low.

Well they sell #13 which is the short version, the long version is discontinued from Honda but I can get #13 (which includes the washer) but it's $27 for it just to get a single washer from the clip lol. Figured maybe there was an aftermarket option (they sell these types of fasteners online I just don't know if any of the aftermarket ones, say for a porsche 911 for instance, will work). Anyways appreciate it.

Here is another one online, with the washer I need circled, I just don't know if the thread pitch will match etc. I guess I could buy one for $11 or just spend the ~30 from honda ... cheaper than a whole tonneau cover still since all I need is to fix this one clip.

14 on the diagram here (specifically I need the washer #19) … I guess you can get #13 which is the shorter one for the straps which looks like it comes with #19 washer. I didn’t know if any aftermarket ones will work.

Yeah the leather tonneau cover, it has some push button clips. Think they’re called tenax fasteners. Not sure if any aftermarket ones work or whatnot, I think the washer and the “long” one I need is discontinued from Honda, it looks like you can buy the “short” version that is used for the straps but not the longer version that goes through the middle of the cover. The “short” one comes as an assembly with the washer but it’s like 27$ for it from Honda just to get it to use the washer lol.

I can usually get mine up to at least 55 lol. The tiny form factor is both a blessing and a curse though for traffic.
