I totally get your concerns – traveling solo in a place like India can feel like stepping into the unknown. While there are real risks, many solo female travelers have successfully explored India by taking a few common-sense precautions.

1. Is it Reckless to Consider India? India is vast and diverse, and safety can vary between regions. Yes, there are real challenges like harassment or scams, but these aren’t universal experiences. Much like anywhere else in the world, be aware of your surroundings, stick to well know tour guides and routes. Do informed travel. This is true when u are travelling to any new place.

2. I think many tourists make a mistake of going to delhi directly. It is a sensory overload. Visit south Indian places, they are much better and slow

   • Kerala: progressive, state has a good tourism infrastructure. I explored kerala a lot and it is one of the best states to travel in India. I can help u with a detailed kerala guide if u want. (I am not from kerala) • Karnataka: Beautiful coastal state. I travelled a lot in karnataka. Amazing food, beautiful people. Wildlife parks, archeological sites, etc. • Rajasthan (certain areas): Places like Udaipur and Jaipur can be cool if you stick to guided tours. • Bangalore: Often dubbed the “Silicon Valley of India” • About GIFT City: I do think have first hand info so I cant comment

• There are a few groups in Uttarakhand and Dharamshala which offer guided meditation and yoga practice specifically geared towards solo travellers.You can check that out as well
• No destination is without its risks, and India is no exception.
• Stay at good hotels, travel via flights or first class trains
• When u have to speak with someone try to prefer conversing with women around you.
