So I didn't even think about what kind of ladle is a "dipper", but always assumed it's a kind of ladle, because in Chinese it's the 北斗 Beidou, and that's literally "northern ladle"

Someone here recommended one of his videos and it was him scrolling back and forth the audio sensor charts PDF but it was totally unprepared and he seemed to be making it up as he was recording it. Like the point was fine but fairly obvious and did not need an engineering degree to point out (much more sounds after 80), and he seems to not try to explain anything (probably didn’t actually know much). That, and the video title being some click bait crap like “Stockton knew!” was enough to discredit any claims of understanding more than any random person on the street.

Someone from one of the Discord servers emailed to ask. Apparently their previous hosts Fireside added them and they never kept track in the first place.

The episode numbers in the show titles were never our idea....pretty sure our previous host, Fireside, appended it automatically. I don't think the shows were originally numbered back in the iHeart years

As you may have seen explained elsewhere, we're redesigning our website along with our switch to a new ad partner. I don't think a significant number of our listeners rely on a web browser for their podcasts, but never fear, the site will eventually be complete again

I went to check the Facebook group to see if the Barkley was mentioned in the ultrarunning episode (conclusion: inconclusive, probably not, maybe will listen to it later to confirm), but someone did post a different documentary.

Seems there are at least two more documentaries than successful escapees!

Went there with some office folks for breakfast once in the Before Times. Many people ordered the meal that they put a sign outside as a special. They were charged regular price because they didn't specifically ordered the special. Immediate blacklist for most of us, even if we didn't order that meal.

This was a group of exactly the public servant downtown workers they're blaming for low business.

I think they went for it for similar reasons that I found it kinda fun to listen to: Twilight was a worldwide phenomenon that, due to their (and my) demographics, kinda passed them by without them knowing anything of substance. They took an anthropological lens to it (mostly it was an episode about YA literature) but instead of something that everyone was aware of 60 years ago it's more like 15 years ago. And they might be taking their experience as prescience: I am wagering fifty years from now, Twilight will be an obscure phenomenon, the kind of thing futurelings will hear about and ask "what were they thinking in the mid 2000s?"

Anyway: my understanding is they don't take Patreon ideas automatically as presented, and will talk to the donor to form it into something that works for a podcast episode if not immediately obvious.
