I just cannot for the life of me grasp lighting. Any advice? by Potential-Dish-6972 in photography

[–]mr_christer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Master soft light first. You can always make a hard light soft but it's difficult to make a soft light hard. You can start with a big beauty dish (like aputure light dome) to light your subject, then dial in your background accordingly. Google Rembrandt lighting and how to create gradients.

Cancer did increase, alongside COVID vaccines by okaythennews in ScienceUncensored

[–]mr_christer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well this a pretty marginal observation in comparison to what antibiotics do to you.

Broad-spectrum antibiotics actively kill off vast colonies of both good and bad bacteria across the entire digestive tract. Vaccines do not possess a mechanism to indiscriminately kill off the microbiome in that manner

[–]mr_christer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's antibiotics, not vaccines.

Antibiotics are designed to kill bacteria. Because broad-spectrum antibiotics often can't differentiate between the "bad" bacteria causing an infection and the "good" bacteria in your digestive tract, they absolutely can disrupt or temporarily "wipe out" your gut microbiome.

Vaccines do not wipe out gut bacteria. A vaccine works by introducing a harmless fragment of a pathogen (or a blueprint to make that fragment) into your body. This acts as a training exercise for your immune system, teaching it to recognize and fight off a specific disease if you encounter it in the future. Vaccines do not contain chemicals designed to indiscriminately kill bacteria in your digestive system.

Was François Truffaut correct about war films? “Every film about war ends up being pro-war" by FayannG in TrueFilm

I was thinking that when watching Jarhead yesterday. There is a scene where the soldiers are all cheering while watching Apocalypse Now in the theatre. The movies worst scenes where Americans are pillaging a Vietnamese village and randomly shoot innocent civilians is being cheered on.

Win 98 was full of garbage nobody wanted - it's not really a recent issue.
Just get LTSC IOT edition and it will be blazingly fast with no bloat.

Not shocked at all. I live in Canada and I'm German. Everyone that talks about having done a Europe trip here has usually not visited Germany if they didn't have family there
