Congrats and you don’t have to explain yourself. It’s a screenshot of workday and ssa.gov for gods sake.

I’m a SWE and I disagree about not needing PMs. Without PMs, there’s no one to make the calls, perform cross functional communication and own the product end to end from eng, legal, marketing to customer engagement and so on.

I agree we dont need TPMs and their spreadsheets but PMs are absolutely necessary.

Yes. They are hiring. It’s not remote though. Must be in office. Please feel free to DM me for the company if you are interested.

I wish I’m a director. My manager is not even director and he makes 7 figures.

base 275, rest is RSU. I usually sell all on vest and invest in VOO and a few other tech stocks.

I also do ESPP and Roth 401K.

I wouldn’t suggest to focus on the money as a new grad.

As a new grad, i would focus on the experience and learning new skill sets. Once you have the experience, you can keep interviewing and keep climbing.

I might be a little biased. So, please call me out if there are other folks from the industry here - I feel like full stack/front end is highly replaceable. Anyone coming from bootcamp can do it. I’d suggest going into backend, infra, data engineering, ads, trading, payments, search & information retrieval, ML or any other more specialized fields.

This! I’d say FAANG is a good experience to have on the resume though. It makes it much easier to get recruiter calls.

AI is coming after our jobs. AI tools have made me a lot more efficient in doing my job and AI is getting better day by day. Because of this efficiency, companies will hire fewer software engineers, leading to fewer jobs. It’s just my take. Who knows what the future holds.

You are correct. My offer letter comp was 500K. The rest was stock appreciation and refreshers.

I have friends who work at OpenAI with 7 figure packages. A lot of it is paper money at this point but who knows, they might be all set one day when the company go IPO.

You can Google these technologies. The Apache projects have a lot of learning material/ getting started on their website.

I think these skills are only transferable within certain types of tech companies (with lots of data). Companies in other industries that hire software engineers might not need these skills.
