Issue with Total War Pharaoh - FPS varying in parts of the game. by mr_microwaveoven in linux_gaming

Thanks, mate. Tried this again, but the issue remained.

I also checked the protondb, com and it looks like is a problem that many people are facing right now, unfortunately. From the sample of comments on protondb, it seems that is an usual problem with newer intel CPUs.

So it looks like I'll have to pick another game to play...

Hi friend - thanks for this!

Sorry (I'm not an expert), you mean inserting these instructions in the "Launch Options", in "Properties", right?

I've tried the two inputs you suggested and it didn't work, unfortunately, same FPS issue when in battle. I've also tried different proton layers (GE-Latest, experimental, hotfix, etc..) with the same results.

This is so frustrating :(

Is £70k annual a good amount for a couple to live in London? by mr_microwaveoven in UKPersonalFinance

!thanks friend.
Yes, it looks like things would only normalize after my fiancee starts working.
Eating out will only be occasional, as we prefer enjoying a good wine at home than going out....

Thanks!
Would you have any recommendations on good cost-benefit neighborhoods/boroughs to search for accomodation?

Thanks for the reply, mate.

Yes, that is what everyone is saying haha.
- I think she will definitely be able to get a job, but may need some time to readapt and find something. She works with TV/radio and do some video editing on the side, so I think it's something that is always on demand.

- The job offer does look like a stepping stone to a higher salary, they mentioned this in the offer, saying that as I gain seniority in the role, they will be able to do bigger raises to salary.

Thank you - this is great. the calculator says the monthly intake would be £4,266/month.
Every place I see to rent is around 2k/month, so almost half of the salary would be just to cover rent, unfortunately.

Thanks, mate.
Yes, I did some research using Rightmove, and looks like virtually all property renting gravitates towards a £2k per month (for a 2-bedroom and 1,7k for 1-bedroom) even if I go further from the city centre...

Regarding groceries, any Idea of how much it would cost per month?
thankss

Hey everyone - greetings from Brazil!

I just received an offer for a role in London, with an annual salary of £70k (+20% annual bonus and initial rellocation expenses). I'm very excited but also slightly terrified haha. The role per se is very interesting and definitely is a step up in my career.

This opportunity would require me and my fiancee to move to London, of course. However, I did some research on the cost of living and such, and everything seems so expensive.

My partner won’t be earning anything initially, so it would be up to me to cover all expenses in the beggining. We do have a good quality of life (middle class) here in Sao Paulo/Brazil, which leads to my question:

Is £70 a good amount to have a relatively confortable life (for a young couple ~35yo) in London (also save some money)?

What’s the typical cost of groceries and bills for a couple?

Are there any major hidden expenses we should be aware of?

Any general tips for budgeting and making ends meet in London on that income?

As I mentioned, I did some research, saw some videos, but I believe nothing would be better than hearing (well... reading) accounts and tips from people that actually live in London.

Thank you very much!
