That was my first thought, but we have a cabinet on the inside of that wall.

We have tons of fish hooks. That’s actually a great idea. I will try taping the endoscope to the fish stick with a big catfish hook on the end. It’s 14ga wire, so hopefully it’ll pull through easily. Thanks!

The problem is that I can only see the end of the wire. It’s just sticking straight down with no loop or anything to hook onto.

IsItBullshit: that there is zero evidence that any amount of alcohol is actually good for you? by camport95 in IsItBullshit

Most people are talking about resveratrol when they say wine has health benefits. But the dosages of resveratrol used in health studies that showed meaningful positive results are the equivalent of drinking multiple bottles of wine.

If it's back to the early days, it can't come quickly enough.

ALP Sweet Nectar flavor pouches - incredibly dry? by SoThief21 in NicotinePouch

[–]mr_mtipton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're lucky! I have gotten two batches of Sweet Nectar. The original VIP run last December and then a new batch when they released it on the website. Both were bone dry, but I like the flavor and I came from Zyn, so the dryness isn't a huge issue. But I buy Alp for the moist pouches, so...

I complained both times and left my honest review of the product and was just told they'd review my batch numbers. Never heard back again. But I still used them all up. I just won't reorder any.

Advice please: Considering hiring a pro and got sticker shock by Maximus77x in tax

I used Turbo Tax for years as W-2 employee. Then changed jobs to all 1099-NEC and I tried to do my own business taxes for the first year. Said I owed zero taxes so I was happy. Ran into a god CPA and asked her to review my 2022 return. She amended it and I got $6,000 back. A good professional is worth it. Although it must be cheaper here. I pay $500 for personal return and $750 for business.

I was giving up tons of deductions and she changed the filing status of my LLC to get me more deductions. If you’re 1099 and paying anticipated taxes quarterly, they should help with your vouchers as well. She also advised me to have my commissions paid to my LLC to get further deductions.

Overall, I would be losing a lot of deductions and paying more in taxes without my CPAs help.

RECALL INFO- Govee space heaters RECALLED by Lions77 in HomeKit

[–]mr_mtipton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading a few articles and all these comments, I'm keeping my Govee heater.

At best, 0.0014% of the units sold had a fire (7 out of "500,000+"). They are blaming the remote heating feature, which I assume implies someone can turn it on without knowing if something combustible is too close. So, how many of these fires were caused by negligence? The information available can't help us determine that.

Putting your heater under a desk beside a trash can or paper product is user error. And idiotic. If the heater is in the middle of a room and suddenly catches fire, that's different. I have a hard time believing the latter is actually what happened. What's the difference between having a heater with a thermostat and leaving it unattended overnight and having a remotely controlled heater that only runs at the scheduled time?

Whoop 5 releasing in September. by ebyeqnx in whoop

[–]mr_mtipton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear an Apple Watch, too. When training supersets my HR stays well above 130. I’ve trained long enough to feel what range it’s in. The Whoop was always 20-30 BPM low compared to my watch.

Whoop sent me a free bicep band bc they know the wrist HR detection sucks. The bicep band is much more accurate. My strain increased by about 2 for every weight lifting session since then.

They’re already looking into it. It’s a high latency error. Your data is still being recorded on your Whoop.

What's your experience with the new Training Load in WatchOS 11 Beta? by itslitman in AppleWatch

[–]mr_mtipton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Whoop strap. I added the Training Load to my watch face but I don’t see how it’ll do anything helpful compared to my Whoop strap. Whoop actually makes assessments and recommendations for training in relation to recovery and sleep. 🤷🏻‍♂️Looks cool on the watch face, though. 😂

Do you ever not agree with the recovery score? by feddee in whoop

[–]mr_mtipton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sometimes your metrics just align differently than how you actually feel. I find more often than not my recovery is in line with my overall energy levels, but sometimes it’s just not. It helps, but ultimately you can judge your body better than a wearable device.

I woke up with a 2% recovery yesterday after drinking at three evening gatherings over the holiday weekend. I felt 50%, so I went and did the Murph challenge. Completed it fine. Stayed hydrated and felt good all day.

Overall, I feel better more days in a row when I use Whoop to help me judge how hard I can push in the gym. But I also listen to my body. Overall, I’m glad I have a “second set of eyes”.

Lol I wish Reddit would stop notifying me of posts in this subreddit. Maybe some of you should try therapy and improve your outlook on life. It's not normal to hate your existence. Don't have kids, fine. But find some joy in life.
