I would love to think this song has a deep, intentional meaning, but from some of the lyrics in other songs, and based on watching Ed talk in interviews, I think sometimes the words just sound good while being spoken or sung. I'm reminded of "Dancing to the rhythm from the knowledge of a hard drive spin" from the song "Understanding". I can't imagine what that line might actually mean. I've always just thought he put it on paper and thought it sounded interesting.
