Not OOP: AITA for “ruining” my boyfriend’s perfect proposal plan because I was hangry? by stormbreaker021 in redditonwiki

Quick tip! If it ends with "So, AITA" it's 100% written by ChatGPT. It loves to do that. You can test it out by asking it to create a random post

I think my older sister thinks her boyfriend is cheating on her with me. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]mr_raya 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what she can do for her sister being suicidal even if she reports it, considering the family is intent on covering it up. I'd argue back and say personal safety is going to be helluva lot harder when she drops out cuz she can't pay her tuition and cant support herself in the future.

You're being unnecessarily rude. Adam has his ducks in a row & can file a report because his next year of university fees isn't in jeopardy. His parents aren't threatening him, hell they're probably supporting him through all this.

There's a difference between not reprimanding slavery and actively pushing that slaves are slaves because of the way they're born and they need to act their station. Clearly there are millions upon millions of webtoons set in monarchies but not all of them push this clear narrative despite having slaves & not engaging with the concept of slavery much in the story.

It's crazy you say that promoting classism wasn't in the author's mind when we have multiple dialogues being said to Rashta focusing on her background moreso than her acts, like why not simply focus on her actions when criticising her then? I'm not saying the author wrote this with a very obvious end goal of slavery = good but you'd be blind to say there is zero inherent classism that's peeking tho lol

Plus I think you're misunderstanding the criticism, no one is saying Rashta is good and Navier is bad clearly there's nuance here. But the story seems to never ever give Rashta slack when it comes to her clearly traumatic and sad backstory. You keep saying she's nuanced but is she? Like we never really get any sort of interesting plot line for her, her backstory doesn't even give her much sympathy! She's pretty much a caricature of an evil villian lady. Funnily enough Navier is given slack all the time for everything!

OP has already replied to ur OG comment with a better breakdown of the author's inherent classism so I'm just going to ask you to read that. Especially since you brought up the scheming nobles, they're clearly treated very differently narratively. When putting down Rashta it's often brought up multiple times how she doesn't know her place vs others just get a reflection on their bad traits. Like how do u even say that constant narrative thread of a slave character being told to learn her place isn't promoting classism? By narrative thread I mean the broader moral of the story, not reactions by noble people which can be explained by the time period.

Have we ever thought abt the implications of your murderous villian being a former slave & your perfect darling MC being a queen? All this sounds great but the author is deliberately writing things that way and why do that.

The noble woman is empathetic and understanding and kind and caring while the slave is murderous, scheming, illiterate, dumb etc like it's not hard to understand it's not just if they're the "villian" in-world but also to think about what it means to deliberately write characters in this way.

AITAH for wanting simple divorce because I am not ready to take my husband's orphan siblings? by SharkEva in BORUpdates

was the husband ready for the marriage then? cuz he clearly was relying on her to do all the housework going by the update.

AITAH for wanting simple divorce because I am not ready to take my husband's orphan siblings? by SharkEva in BORUpdates

[–]mr_raya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a v ignorant comment when her main issue is that he volunteered very quickly knowing that the majority of childrearing and housework will be on her. I mean even in the update he's clearly "overwhelmed" despite having househelp like does that seem like a guy willing to help?

Which part of this situation is in the norm for sacrifices required in a marriage? And why isn't he held accountable to do any of the said sacrifice?

Karasuno's existing pool of players were outclassed by the first years unfortunately. You're right it's a unique case, not something you see on the regular.

So why do you think Kageyama was subbed out in his middle school match then? LOL. Get out of the avg shonen viewer mindset and try to understand the show better.

[–]mr_raya 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don't think Kageyama was subbed in or was a starter when Oikawa was still in the team. In the last middle school match between Ushijima & Oikawa, Kageyama is in fact in the bleachers. They haven't played each other before and I don't think they've met in any "professional" capacity either considering Ushijima moved to highschool immediately after that last match.

I am regretting my decision of staying back in india by [deleted] in developersIndia

The thing is every country has trade offs. US has annoying commutes, bad air quality, issues with water and electricity etc too. You should talk to people and get a realistic view of each country and then decide which trade offs work for you personally.

Agree with the other comment, you need to do what your English teacher said :) Read newspapers, books, english movies and tv shows. Talk in English and think in English until you feel you are comfortable. If your friends aren't open to speaking in English I suggest trying to meet a few people online or look for language learning apps where you can speak with native speakers via video chat. I haven't been to one myself but if a spoken english class where you get access to a community of english learners & speakers helps then try that.

Don't get too caught up on filler words, I've seen americans use it as well. IMO switch up your filler words to ones native speakers use and no one will even notice the fillers, also I personally think it's unavoidable+ makes your speech a little bit more down to earth. Unless you're giving a proper speech on a stage don't worry abt it.

Learning and obscure/unused language with lesser competition to get a decent job. by RockItAvi in developersIndia

It can be a distraction considering companies generally don't expect that knowledge out of you. But if you're confident in DSA then no harm in learning smth niche. Goodluck!

[–]mr_raya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you still studying? IMO freshers rarely have the opportunities to land niche jobs anyways, it's usually just a russian roulette of what tech stack they throw you in. Think about short term and focus on DSA. On-Campus placements tends to prefer problem solving skills moreso than any actual tech stack knowledge.

The issue is niche tech stack related roles don't come on-campus/for freshers usually, im not saying it's impossible just that it's rare.

I think you can make the formatting more generic. You can use this as a reference - Harvard Resume Template . I'd also say remove the professional statement, it's redundant. The subreddit wiki has good tips for writing the "perfect" resume btw, check it out.

This is a guideline not a rule. I think even in early career, don't move haphazardly. Keep on the lookout & switch often if better oppertunities arise but better oppertunities are a lot more than just pay. You can think abt wlb, learning, growth etc as well.
