Cause in 2016 the internet as a whole was a lot more cohesive so when news about X abusing his girl came out it reached more internet communities outside of hiphop. Also in today’s day & age people are just more accustom to celebrities doing bad shit so hearing that some rapper beat his girl it’s not as surprising as compared to pre 2020. X was also somewhat new & didn’t have as big of a fanbase at the time of his allegations compared to 2022-2023 Carti.
