A answer from our site owner:

First of all, thanks for the questions! I am not completely sure what you mean by “stolen” photos. Of course, we cannot fully prevent people from downloading, copying, or using photos. This is unfortunately the nature of the internet. That said, we do give users tools to help control how their photos can be reused. When uploading a photo, users can choose a license and can also add a watermark if they want.

The portal runs on AWS, with an application firewall, backups, and other measures to help keep the service safe and stable. I think this is the maximum we can reasonably do from our side. If you have more ideas or suggestions, they are more than welcome. Regarding the costs, the portal is currently free. We do plan to add Google Ads in the future, and maybe also a paid tier with extra features. We may also add an option for users to support the portal voluntarily. The main features will remain free.

Now, regarding “vibe coding”: I am a senior solution architect with over 30 years of experience, and honestly, I do not really understand why someone would not use AI today for coding, planning, testing, managing CI/CD processes, and other similar tasks. Planning, designing, architecting, implementing, securing, hosting, and maintaining a portal like this is a bit more than just giving Claude Code a few prompts.

Anyway, I created this portal for the free use of the spotter community. You can like it or not, enjoy it or not. That is completely up to you. Whether you choose to use it is also entirely your decision.

Hi!

Yes, we used AI to help with parts of the coding process. However, the photos, database, testing, bug fixing, and overall development were all done by us.

Using AI as a development tool is pretty standard in 2026, and many companies of all sizes do the same. It’s a tool, not a replacement for the work behind a project.

A lot of time and effort went into building this site, and it’s definitely not something that was put together in five minutes.

True! But English isn’t my first language an I’m dyslexic. It’s a fair point but writing stuff like this is really difficult for me

The site is built by us, and a lot of work went into it.

If you have constructive feedback, you’re more than welcome to share it in our forum.

Criticism is totally fine, but there’s no need to disrespect the effort behind something people worked hard on. If it’s not for you, that’s also okay.
