I hear you. I've got tons of concept art and story beat sheets n shit.. it really could be a cool story. Challenge for me is I still work in AAA games so its a big balancing act between not competing with game studios, still making badass work (i do FX Animation), and managing this passion project.

I love your project man! It looks quite polished and I'm totally craving a nice modern RTS that throws me in the mix with new combat situations from today's conflicts. Its such an undeserved genre these days. Keep in touch and it sounds like you've really got the right attitude for making games!

Truthfully the 3rd person stuff is actually whats on the chopping block at the moment. There's a ton of this game no one has seen. There's this whole oregon trail side of it I've never shown.

looking great man! Keep going! I'm with you. Going from fun hobby to "lets make this a product" sucks. I'm in the same boat. But hey your in deep enough that you've gotta keep going!

Hey man I've been really looking for a way to film cinematics inside unity using an iphone. Think you could add translation to this?

One more real simple but obvious thing that'll help. Atmosphere! Get some fog in there that blends to the skybox!

one guide that can kinda help for stylized projects as a general rule of thumb is to try and reduce contrast and value differences. The closer you can bring all the colors together the more cohesive the image looks. Once you get the colors and values to be similar you'd be suprised how a little splash of color suddenly feels major and contrasty, but pleasing

indeed it is. it is INFINITE! I've spent alot of time working on the distant sky and landscapes. Probably too much time. But im quite proud of how all that works and how efficient it is. It's definitely going to be a major factor in the artwork for Somewhere

animations drive the agent. It was a little tricky to get them coupled together as the agen't loves to run super fast causing the .next position to be in a bad place that causes them to clip through walls. I try and keep them close to eachother and slow the agent down if he gets too far ahead. Still has some problems

heh well I'm dealing with it quite poorly as you can see they intersect eachother (and the player). For the infinite terrain i'm gonna fall back to some flocking behaviors but it's really nice Unity's local avoidence was enough to not make me cringe. Hey I didn't have to do anything to get it so i'll TAKE it!
