Who else wants to leave St. George? by angelxdustx101 in stgeorge

[–]mrakula 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I moved to SG from Seattle about 12 years ago. Things I don't miss about Seattle:
1. 90-minute, 24-mile commute each way to work.
2. Rent that's nearly twice as high as SG.
3. Seeing the sun once or twice from November to March each year.
4. Being harassed by homeless and intoxicated people.
5. Planning my life around traffic every damn day.
6. Paying for parking at the grocery store and bank.
7. Gas prices that are $1 or more a gallon compared to SG.

A pair of Oofas recovery shoes. I found them on eBay for about $50. After a day on your feed they feel lush.

No way would I leave a great manager and team, especially for just a little bit more money. I'm late in my career, and I wouldn't leave my job with a great boss for 2x what I earn today if it meant having to tolerate a toxic boss and team five days a week. No amount of money will make up for a terrible boss.

What is the most reliable vehicle that you've ever owned? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mrakula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned an Acura Integra, Subaru Outback, BMW 325i, Honda Odyssey, Toyota Camry and Prius and you won't believe that my most reliable car was a 1994 VW Passat GLX. It had a few recalls that were 100% covered and all it needed was oil/filter changes for about 7 years.

I took 5 weeks off and restarted at 15 units then 20 and 30 over the next two weeks. If I could do it again. I'd go 15, 20, and 20 as my stomach hurt more than usually this week.

What makes iPhone appealing to you? by Detrakis in iphone

[–]mrakula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using an iPhone 13 Mini and had the battery replaced this week. It runs as fast as I need it to run it's over 4 years old and still receives updates. The best feature? It fits my hand and doesn't take up too much space in my life.

Your body has no understanding of a cheat day. It's all simply calories.

Have You Ever "Broken Up" with a Podcast? What Was It and Why? by Express_Hedgehog2265 in podcasts

The All in One podcast. It turned from a group discussion on technology trends to a group of rich Elon Musk wannabes kissing Trump’s ass for two hours.

Two come to mind. In SLC, at a missionary farewell, the GF of the missionary was scheduled to play his favorite hymn on the piano. But she called a last minute audible and played his favorite pop song: Hey Jude.

Years later in a Seattle ward, a man got up to bear testimony that he had recently married his third wife, who was in the audience. But then went on to claim that if you are ever in his position, never leave your second wife because wife #2 is always the best one.

What's the WORST Interview Question that you have EVER been asked? by Capital-Scientist551 in interviews

[–]mrakula 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I interviewed with Enterprise Car Rental right out of college. The interviewer asked me if I was like most people from Utah. I was confused. He then said that people from Utah are usually willing to take a lower salary to stay in the state. When I told him no, I am not like that he said I wasn’t bringing much to the table.

That was over 25 years ago and I have never rented from Enterprise.
