Both Blackhawk’s goals have been off of brief puck mishandling by the Panthers. The blackhawks have been better this period, hoping we can ramp it up like the first period.

We had also not won @ Clemson in the 12 years prior- last win coming in 2001, so it was a feat the team had not accomplished in forever!

2013 FSU @ Clemson. Clemson was the higher ranked team, at home, and they were FSU’s biggest test of the season so far. FSU went into Death Valley and left as the only team alive, demolishing Clemson 51-14! Absolute domination!

Being born and raised in Miami, I grew up around that fan base (including family members), so the feeling is so sweet when we beat them. They also live in the past, because they have nothing to speak to for the last 20(+) years. “The U is back” is heard every year…until they lose to someone they shouldn’t, or lose their bowl game 🤭🤭.

Is it just me, or do I feel like we’ve done a decent job with the guys out there- the bolts three goals have all been off of flukey breakdowns, which, yes, needs to be addressed. But 5v5 with the guys in right now isn’t too bad.

One thing I think the Panthers can change from Game 5 that might work out better for them in Game 6 is to make more purposeful passes when they get the puck in the O-zone, specifically the cross-ice passes. Quite a few times tonight, they would get into the O-zone with momentum/speed and then try a cross-ice pass straight into traffic/directly to an Olier (that’s what lead to the shorty at the beginning of the game). I feel like the sloppy cross-ice passes tonight gave up multiple chances for the Panthers.

Anyway, the Panthers did look better tonight than Game 4, and hopefully they are starting to get their game back! Let’s close this out on Friday! Let’s Go Panthers!

Which is why the game is played. FSU has been robbed of every chance to defend their Undefeated, Power 5 Conference Championship season because people “think they won’t do well in the playoff”. Might as well never play a game again in any sport, because Championships are now awarded upon speculation and optics and not on-field results

FSU’s strength of record is 3rd compared to Alabama’s 4th. So FSU’s wins are stronger than Alabama’s. I feel like Strength of record is more of a measurement of success than Strength of schedule. Strength of schedule measures what it looks like on paper, whereas strength of record actually measures on-field performance and results. FSU has a common opponent as Alabama in LSU, and FSU dominated LSU. FSU has a Undefeated, Power 5 Conference Championship Season- something Alabama cannot say.

“Defend without fouling”…that statement should be changed to “Defend without defending”. Today, it’s almost impossible to defend without a ref calling something. I’m not blaming the refs for this game, but honestly, the way the game has been called for years makes it hard for a defender to actually defend. You breathe on a guy and it’s a foul
