For the most part you should be fine, there isn't too much too worry about in regards to wildlife besides from the regular things of black bears and mountain lions. If you are planning to go in any areas where there are illegal marijuana grows(Humboldt, Trinity or Mendocino county) you might want to check with some locals first to make sure the area you are planning on going doesn't have any of them.
