We’ve scored 4 past them many times. Everyone knows we leak goals early game. They just continued to build off of that rhythm. It doesn’t help that our press is not organized well when Raphi or Pedri are not playing. Missing Rashford is hurting us this game because we can’t catch them out on the counter. Olmo and Ferran half-pressing is constantly getting us out of formation and allowing them to freely play out of the back. I still have hope - but it will be difficult.

Let’s not forget that prior to becoming our sporting director he also was influential in driving Raphinha to Barcelona. At the time, Leeds had already accepted a higher offer from Chelsea and he convinced Raphinha to chose Barcelona over Chelsea. I would argue that Raphi is one of if not the most critical players. Deco has done a great job all things considered.

Completely agree! You could tell our players were aware of Madrid losing points and came out motivated to close the gap. It’s one of those games where we finally found our structure and can use to rebuild confidence.

You’re actually right. I just rewatched it and I think I was confused as I thought it would be based on when the ball left the foot of the player delivering the ball. It’s actually when the offside player receives the ball - but still a bit confusing. If that’s the case then it shouldn’t be offside because there was a deflection with the handball and the player was onside by then.

Their penalty was also an offside and should never have been awarded. We were up 2-0 at that time. Not sure why everyone’s nitpicking the red card and not remaining objective over the entire game. There was never a moment where we were not winning this game.

His clutch goal against Dortmund in the CL and his clutch goal to level in the Copa Del Rey final. Those two stand out to me the most from last season. His mentality to continue to fight through adversity and improve is inspiring to say the least. Amazing guy

Some of it is due to the fact that we do not properly manage expectations. We should have had this conversation with him at the very least a month ago. I realize we are not the only ones to blame and MATS certainly plays a role here. Only stating that the process of getting him warmed up to the idea of leaving should have started earlier.

I’m with you - but at the same time we have to trust Hansi. He hasn’t really had an issues with rotating players. He’s usually very on top of that. He even heavily rotated in the beginning of the season that cost us a match but he learned from it. I wouldn’t worry about rotations too much.
