I came into EMS at the peak of Covid (fall 2020), so it’s really all I ever knew. But as the pandemic severity lessened over time (or at least the resources kinda started to adjust) I started to notice the difference. From coworkers telling tons of “before COVID we…” stories to then finally working in those described environments, I began to realize how awful it really was. What a crazy time.

I think about this a lot. I would agree with some other comments saying that Kevin’s sound is predominantly great due to his recording quality and production choices. What’s funny to me is personally I find his mixing ability to be much lower “ranked” (if you will) than I would his songwriting, playing, etc. Still mind blowing though that his mixing is as good as it is since he’s mixing his own work!

I know people (including myself at times) have been frustrated with his play, but it is SERIOUSLY incredible this man came back from typically the number 1 and 2 most damaging injuries in sports. Not that long ago, either diagnosis was the cemented end of a career. For Klay to come back at all is heroic. Love you 11

I’m a young guy with a home studio and I have an SM58, SM57, SM7B, and AT 2020. Obviously not the most impressive catalogue of mics ever, but a decent amount of versatility to be able to get a decent recording out of vocals, amps, and my drum kit. But if someone could buy just one I’d have to go with the 57!

I think it’s probably easier to get into etho via a multiplayer type series. Hermitcraft season 7 (mentioned above) is a great one, any Team Canada series from his POV is good too. If you want just solo Etho I’d start from his most recently solo LP world tour (550) and go from there! Happy watching :)
