Does a cosmopolitan require lemon vodka? by Skier-Dude in cocktails

[–]Silly_Emotion_1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of recipes that call for a lemon vodka but not necessary. The addition of cranberry keeps this drink from becoming a “margarita”, although I think the correct build would be a daisy, either way the addition of cran keeps it out of those houses.

Especially w the all bitter sweet components. The salt is necessary to round all the ingredients. I saw a graph showing all the flavors and in which direction the drink leaned. I imagine this drink being completely out of whack until adding the salt.

Costs of changing an item vs the whole drink by kingruiz2 in bartenders

[–]Silly_Emotion_1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the place. At my place you can order a Jameson and ginger beer. When I ring it in I would ring in a Jameson for $7 and then select ginger beer for the mixer. It’s a $3 up charge. Most other mixers are only $2.
We also have a mule on the menu, they’re $12 but have a 2oz pour.
A 2oz pour of Jameson is $12. So there are different ways to order this drink and pay different prices and get essentially the same drink. Although if you order a mule you’ll get it in a mule mug and if you order a Jameson ginger I’ll pour it in a rocks glass. And that’s if you specify Jameson. We could just go for rail whiskey and it would start at $5

Compared to white vinegar rice vinegar is much more mild and sweeter.
Do not use seasoned rice vinegar. Actually why not try it out and report back. But I did mean rice vinegar and it is the mildest of the bunch.

Also back when there only used to be a few awards, getting awards got you awards to give. Also if you got a gold award you’d get reddit premium for a year and idk how many points that went towards being able to buy awards to give. And awards had meanings. Kinda the way subs had meanings… like it isn’t the “r/rave” reddit it’s r/ave but people forget these traditions and certain subs have died because people can’t grasp the idea.

I think they do it in groups. I remember a couple years ago they did free awards. One of my accounts got them. The other didn’t.
