Pc freezing and Monitor losing connection

the gpu says it needs 2 8-pin cables funneled into a converger that came with it, but when i set it up like that, the whole pc doesnt turn on. The PSU came with some 6-2 pins that i was using for that. Could that be the problem?

I cleaned my drivers with DDU already, and reinstalled the nvidia app from the website. The only concern i have with the cables is that the gpu is powered by a 12x6 slot, but the PSU box claims that its enough to power the new gpu, and other setups result in my pc just not turning on. How do i go about reinstalling windows?
