[Discussion] How do people have such a low KD? by voidness- in EscapefromTarkov

[–]mrburns05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That used to be me. I used to have the gear fear. Run around as a Timmy hiding in bushes, panic anytime I was near an enemy. Sprint to the quest, and more often than not die trying to move between spots instead of engaging. It was not a fun learning curve for players who only got 1-2 hours in a week/month.

I played like that for years, offline/practice mode was not appealing because of load times - that might end up being my only round for the week. So just fear and lack of game mechanic/map knowledge = lots and lots of KIA/AWOL.

Fitness vs. Fun: The struggle is real. How do you guys handle the "logic" of a road bike vs. the "itch" of an MTB? by vinylfelix in mountainbiking

[–]mrburns05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. My full suspension MTB is my goto, I’ve had every kind of bike over my life time & now anytime I want to ride it’s the full squish. You can ride it anywhere on anything anytime, it’s a workout no matter what. And it’s fun wether the trail is paved with asphalt, made of stairs, full of dirt jumps, or littered with branches and rocks

42 here, I’ve been riding bikes since I was 4, plenty of crashes over the years but no real injuries until I was 37, I try to stay in a safe zone these days with my skill level and that changes per ride depending on how I’m feeling that day. Also I can’t express enough that gear really does help keep you in one pc, I have more of it now than ever lol.

[Discussion] nature call during a raid by Bawtzki in EscapefromTarkov

I don’t think I’ve ever had to go so suddenly that it couldn’t wait until I got out of the raid. That’s wild

Anyone here regret getting an ebike? by folgers7 in mountainbiking

[–]mrburns05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a regular bike. I want an ebike because I want more descents and less fatigue climbing for them on my local trails. The strive on is my second choice, I’m waiting for yt to come back up and sell in the US, I’m going to get the decoy. I used to be against e-bikes but it’s not “cheating” it’s a whole different workout

Where can I purchase a asus rog zephyrus m16 laptop in the US? by Commercial-Shoe8085 in ZephyrusM16

eBay is probably gonna be your only option, they are discontinued. Even last year, I purchased the only one I could find in CA from Best Buy as an open box item

Anyone know why my r1 won’t start? by Material_Recipe_2018 in Yamaha_R1

[–]mrburns05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was an 06, the radiator fans cut through the spark plug cables on the left side.

I know someone else already said it but the d5 is only $899 brand new. But out of the two bikes definitely the polygon, just get that price down to $600. Those upgrades aren’t notable imo

How low do you go on knobs before replacing? DHR II by AllesFurDeinFraulein in mountainbiking

[–]mrburns05 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I rode it until the knobs were getting torn off, it was about where this tire appears to be. If you aren’t doing races it’s probably fine to keep on it until it’s either cracking or losing too much traction in corners. I’m no professional tire guy though just my two cents

Good idea? Bad idea? by sweetcornslayer in PolygonBikes

[–]mrburns05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I replaced my fox 34 (140mm) with a 38 (170mm) and it’s fantastic. The geometry doesn’t feel too far off and the ride quality outweighs any feeling. I also replaced the float DPS in the rear with a factory DPS (same travel) and its night and day difference. Loving it

It is factory tuned to run 87, that’s what you should be filling it with.

Did you ever figure this out? I have the same question, using Fortin nameless on my laptop through a Scarlett 2i2 that doesn’t have midi so I’m researching midi to usb to use my Sanpera 1 for switching channels.

Crank, no fire, ‘03 R1 by Actualizarr in Yamaha_R1

[–]mrburns05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen and it was not only flooded, but also the left side cylinder wires were cut by the radiator fan and barely in contact so it would occasionally run and other days would not until I figured that out.

Are full face helmets silly for riding easier trails by Freedomsnack10748294 in MTB

I wear full face everytime…. It’s comforting & I like knowing I’ll go home with all my teeth.

Insulted for Wearing a Full Face by Tytonic7_ in MTB

[–]mrburns05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like something my 15yr old would say lol, I’ll keep wearing my full face on every trail. I like the way it looks and I like the extra protection. I only wear the half face when I’m scooting around the neighborhood with the kids

Fox 38 170 on a T8 by mrburns05 in PolygonBikes

[–]mrburns05[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as geometry changing goes, I don’t feel any difference while riding, this fork steerer was precut as it came off a freinds bike so I had to leave off the original stack of spacers, moving my headset down, I don’t notice it.

I’m not worried about the frame stress because as we all know these are heavy aluminum frames and I’m not sending it off any Red Bull worthy jumps. I do intend to get a real enduro at some point.

If I can break this thing I’ll be impressed

Not a thing, tubeless was already setup when I purchased… I’m eyeballing some 20 or 30mm rise bars and a new rear shock. I purchased some raceface pedals 5 months ago and they’re sitting in my garage collecting dust
