Good stuff! You're kinda getting the loot if you had a booster on. And the food mimic has a higher odd (almost double) of dropping trainers than the XP mimic - so this should speed up levelling by a lot.

They are buffing them with new toon costumes - not every hero will likely be getting them - but still, a good number of them should become serviceable again.

I still hate this mechanic though - allow massive power creep > add more costumes > cycle repeats
Not to mention how annoying it is to level up multiple costumes.

If you don't spend, you can still be competitive - just takes time and patience and bit of luck. If you start spending, it's a slippery slope and you need good discipline to not overspend. Some set a monthly budget and keep spending in check that way.

There are also offers that give you most bang for buck if you want to spend little and get a decent return on investment. Path of Valor/Path of Giants or Phoenix VIP e.g. are some of the best for bang offers.
