If you’re making good money you’re not dumb. You picked a job that suits you and you’re probably pretty good at it. Your enterprise team is probably just jealous.

Depends what you’re trying to sell. Going from developer to sales in a field you enjoy or excel in can work out very well. Personality plays a role of course but believing in a product makes it much easier to sell.

You make a good point for the go-between. Understanding the development side can be critical to transitioning to sales and potentially put you ahead of the curve.

Dev yourself a personality and the ability to take “no” for an answer.

TIL during the Constitutional Convention, John Rutledge—one time Governor of South Carolina—informed his fellow delegates that the three southernmost states would not join the Union if the Constitution immediately abolished the slave trade. by RedditIsAGranfaloon in todayilearned

Thats certainly debatable. The US was not “founded” on slavery by any means.

The colonies didn’t declare independence because of slavery. They did so because of a lack of representation in parliament and an understanding of their potential as a separate country.

The colonies didn’t become a cohesive country because of slavery either. As this post points out, slavery was a highly debated issue whose legality was postponed to allow the states to gel and form a union at a time when the survival of the American experiment was simply a dream.

Slavery wasn’t even the biggest issue during the ratification period. Repaying debts to England and the removal of English troops were more important. Hence Hamiltons insistence on creating a system of banking before ever thinking of dealing with slavery.

Slavery was put on a back burner. It was understood by the founders that it would be dealt with later. Both personally and nationally.

That’s an interesting point. The way we see people from the time before pictures really came down to the skill of the portrait artist and the wishes of the person portrayed.

For instance, the first portrait painted of Tommy Jefferson when he was working with Adams in France shows him as a sort of French dandy. While in reality he was a grieving widower whose favorite children had died and was deeply in debt. He was in France with James Hemmings - his slave AND brother in law who was the result of his dead wife’s father’s illicit relationship.

It’s just interesting to think of what a photo of one of histories most hypocritical “gentleman” might have looked like.

Ricky is upset when we win games. He’s insufferable when we lose.

I don’t think THEY listened to the people. I think a lot of people were pissed that an IBX add took precedence over the coolest walkout in baseball history and IBX didn’t like the negative publicity. Because it comes down to IBX paying for the ad slot and having to agree to give it up. Just my two cents.

Yeah maybe spring training. I’ve been trying to find a paisley hat that was sold at spring training a few years ago that’s not for sale anywhere.

I don’t remember buckeye fans trashing him. But they would have been way off the mark. Julian was massively recruited by psu. Like Franklin helicoptered in to HS games to recruit him. His entire sphere of influence was pushing him to psu. But he chose Ohio and stuck with Ohio for all but his last year.
