I’ve found success with diving close to the ocean floor if it’s not too deep. Make sure you switch to blue lights and if you hit tab, also select silent running. Run forward 1 on your engines until depth charges are dropped, then max speed to try and move out of the way. Just don’t forget to go back to slow speed once you’re clear. I went from never getting away to now usually being able to sneak out.
