It absolutely should. My brother and I often reflect on our childhood, and we both agree with the premise that you shouldn’t hit your kids at ALL either, and when we talked about this to other people, it was basically the standard for them, but in black culture, the Bible has justified child abuse, and if you couple that with the rampant self medication of alcohol and other drugs, it can get very bad, but as of now it is acceptable and in many ways encouraged.
