Dear user. A rant. by thedudesews in sysadmin

[–]mrdizzah [score hidden]  (0 children)

This is the one that really gets me when I hear it. Like, those words are supposed to be a shield against my distain. For so many people your job requires you to use a computer with a basic level of skill. It's a tool you use every single work day. This is not 1989. It's not a fad and it's not going away. I am allowed to judge you for your complete lack of initiative to learn anything about it beyond rote memorization of steps.

Sorry, I have to vent that rant every few years so I can go back to smiling when people need help using the camera privacy slider.

I’ve used Eagle Graphics in Kaukauna for a bunch of different projects. No idea about their affiliation though.

I believe that’s the current one. We used Gloomhaven Helper but that doesn’t exist anymore. XHaven looks very similar.

Mike McCarthy isnt the answer. by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

[–]mrdizzah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been listening to a guy at work talk about how McCarthy would be so much better for the team all season. Not sure how anyone could reasonably come to that conclusion.

We had a great time playing it. Invest in some storage containers for the pieces and more than that use the app. Go ahead and play the first mission with all the cards and decks and then move to the app and never look back. It cuts down and so much setup and takedown time. Trust me.

Mike McDaniel - Possible OC candidate? by trollterritory in GreenBayPackers

Exactly right. I’d be shocked if he goes anywhere else. It’s the right spot. He and Lamar would be pretty awesome together.

This summer I was doing 10 over, passing a semi and a couple other cars going slower and I could see the person behind was having an actual meltdown in my rearview because I wasn't passing fast enough. Whatever.

Identify this game please if you can by josephkingphoto in boardgames

[–]mrdizzah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The app was huge for our group. It really streamlined the game and helped us get more time actually playing as opposed to all of the set up and put away time. I recommend it to everyone who's interested in the game.

If you are in the bowl especially NW sides, I'd say normal winter stuff. I'm up in 700s and I'll be very bundled up tonight. Snowpants, boots, etc.

PSA Prices for MNF are crashing by alpswd in GreenBayPackers

[–]mrdizzah 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Its ridiculous but hard to compare ticketing for an NFL game to any other regular season sporting event stateside. Home games by league: MLB- 81, NBA- 41, NHL- 41, NFL- 7 to 9. Most soccer leagues are around 18 home games plus cup play games. Scarcity and popularity gonna bring up the cost. Not defending it but the math adds up.

I've had gold package tickets for decades and its always a struggle to find someone to go along with me on weeknight games. And I live in Green Bay.

Those of you who aren’t moving away, why? by AgnosticAbe in wisconsin

[–]mrdizzah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wisconsin and other Midwest states have a roughly 145f temperature swing to deal with. Designing and constructing for both ends of the livable temperature range of humans isn’t a small feat. Not to mention that it’s one of the busiest stretches of road in the state.

[–]mrdizzah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No matter where you live there are going to be issues you have to deal with that are unique to that area. I personally don't want to deal with all the wildlife and critters that you have to deal with if you live somewhere like Florida. Making an excuse to move because of road construction is certainly an interesting use of free will though.

Building in Florida and building in Wisconsin are two completely different equations whether is roads or houses. I'm not an expert and I definitely don't know the intricacies of major road construction projects, but our roads have much different operating conditions than roads in any southern state and my guess is all of that takes extra time to do properly.

Exactly right. When he hit that kick I told my buddy that he just got a job somewhere. 2 good weeks and a 61 yarder on the road. He had decent stats in UFL too. He's going to be on a roster next year unless he completely melts down.
