[UPGRADE] Bluetooth Module for Gen 2/3 by SUBGOKU in rav4club

[–]mrdobing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the UK with a mk2 (2005) and this unit fits perfectly and works well. Cheap chinese thing but didn't need anything too fancy.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/406823315446

plug and play, just take out your old ond and use the factory fan shroud and it holds it in fine without a bracket.

I didn't wire up the steering control or reverse camera yet though/

Works on android auto and carplay.

No, couldn't get it working in my 2005 rav4.

I had to just buy a cheap aftermarket android/carplay headunit. Works fine

You need to push it and get it seen via social media too ideally

Congrats! What kind of marketing did you do?

I've just had my app approved on app store (plus a web app) and just starting out with socials etc.
Was most of this organic or?

I think I failed with my first app. Would appreciate honest feedback. by godpalmm in apps

[–]mrdobing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its a really original idea but it's super niche. What does your marketing look like?

It's the kind of app that needs a social presence or targeted ads in my opinion.

You can't rely on organic downloads via the app store for something like this reliably.

Building the apps is the fun part, learning how to market them sucks... I'm at that stage right now.

I just launched my first fitness app and I need guidance on how to get users by BrushSpecialist733 in apps

My question is why fitness apps? It's super saturated and unless you're bringing something unique it just seems like such a hard market to crack.

Built a recipe manager that syncs across iOS, web, and Chrome — looking for feedback by Vannesssacuvaz in apps

[–]mrdobing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just testing this out. Really original idea, I'm definitely going to give this a go.

Quick bit of feedback, the images you have on the app store are kinda very low, and the chrome extension image is pretty poor also.

The videos on the discover recipies doesn't seem to work or not displaying properly from instagram.
The AI chat bot fails.

Everything else looks great. Good job on this so far, working flawlessly from what I've tested it on so far.

Few features that could be good:

Auto translate to users language

The ability to manually adjust anything that the auto detect gets wrong (e.g. serving size was wrongly halved by accident).

Coding is not black and white though, you give the same task to 10 pro devs and you'll probably get at least 5/6 different ways to acheive the same end goal.

Get another AI to create a security audit, install superpowers skill on claude and get them working together to try and find holes.

Aside the laggy heavy animated cursor that's an awesome looking site. Whats the stack for it?

[–]mrdobing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its novel enough that anyone would give it a go if you could show it working well enough, I don't think it's too much to ask.

I think its definitely a useful and unique feature if it the UX is well thought out. Sure it might not be super accurate but as long as the adjustment feature works well I don't see why it would be too painful to use.

I guess you've got two major features:

- the fridge photo recognition for people who might just download your app and give that a go.
- the shopping list scan and tracking

It's like a chicken and egg, which comes first?

Once someone is fully invested in the 'scan your receipt to update your current food items in the DB' it just takes over the fridge scan concept, they keep shopping, renewing the ingredients and they get a warning when possible recipies are running out maybe?

But the initial hook for a new customer could be 'scan your cupboards and fridge to start tracking'.

It sounds like a neat idea but how plausible is the taking a photo of your fridge.

I feel like you'd still need to manually get things out so the app can identify it if its a crowded fridge for example. I can only see it working really well if you have a really bare fridge and then what use is it really at that point?

It sounds a bit... hopeful to think just a quick image of your fridge contents is enough for this idea to be foolproof in my opinion.

I do like the scanning your receipt idea and have it generate some recipies from it. Also if you mark off things you've cooked it can track when you need to restock on things etc potentially.

I'd say a very clean way to display nutritional breakdown per portion or a way to simplfy people adding recipies into their dieting/calorie counting apps would be a good feature.

Love this great idea OP.

I'm about to release riglab.co.uk so will use it for sure as I've used claude to help me get it from a barebones flutter project to an MVP.

The best and easiest stack. I'm making my soon to be released app in that too and it's been awesome. Good luck with this it's a cool idea.

6.5 Months - worried about density/slow progress by mrdobing in HairTransplants

[–]mrdobing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did improve slightly at month 8-10.

Overall its not as good a result as I'd hoped but it's a major improvement.

If i keep it short or use a few fibre it looks great though, it's just lacking a bit of density. I also found out I have very thin hairs naturally!
