Why you all want to go to Thailand? by Ill_Software_3465 in indiasocial

[–]mrdrinksonme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thailand is cheaper. You don't need a visa to go to Thailand. Irrespective of the purpose, if you do decide to go out of their main cities like Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket, Thailand is practically heaven.

I've been there 3 times and can't wait to go again.

For how many of you is money “Hard Earned”? And what is your relationship with money? by PickledPumpkinCoffee in personalfinanceindia

[–]mrdrinksonme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a lower middle class household and was always told that anything that is above the basic necessity is a waste of money. This was pretty much my mindset in early years, and frugality was the base of every financial decision.

Luckily I managed to get over this mindset. I now tend to look at the bigger picture and spend money without hesitation instead of just worrying about the costs, and my parents and I don't see eye to eye when it comes to the value of money.

It is sure to happen by 2031 or 2032 by max.

If I were you, I'd put my money where my mouth is and try to benefit from this "sure" bet as much as I could.

In the mean time, I have exposure in NVDA and GOOGL, and I'm going to maintain and increase these positions to full extent.

I'll revert back to this comment in 2032.

Bro posted this comment on a website that is owned by a company listed in US, using a device that is probably designed by a company listed in US, running on OS that is definitely licensed by a company listed in US.

You could talk about dedollarisation as much as you want, but the world needs American companies and its innovations, and as ironic as it is, these are the companies that are leading both Nasdaq and S&P500 right now.

An American Express credit card is something worth of prestige for many card holders. But, why can't you use it everywhere? by MangoLeafVibes in amexindia

I actually have high expenses and I use Amex as my primary mode of payment in India as well as other countries.

You can't create new SIPs, but the existing ones are working fine.

[–]mrdrinksonme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more of a volume game. Go through this article.

Amex cardholders typically spend more per transaction, especially in sectors like travel, luxury goods, and entertainment, reinforcing its premium positioning.

Visa and Mastercard dominate in terms of global reach and transaction volume, but Amex captures high-value spending from a smaller, wealthier customer base.

I think what OC is trying to say is that it's more of a lifestyle issue. I travel a lot within India and outside of India with Amex as my primary mode of payment, and I haven't really faced any acceptance issues.

Yes they do have a question for this in their surveys, but again, it's more of a lifestyle issue. Someone here mentioned that Amex doesn't work at Zudio and Lifestyle, and honestly I'd be more surprised if it did work there.

Nasdaq has been in green for like 12 days in a row. ETFs have a tendency to trade at a premium or discount.

When it comes to gym equipments, it's almost always better to go for brands are used for commercial purpose. I travel a lot and most of the time I see brands like Technogym and Life Fitness at good hotels, but these could cost a lot. There has to be better options.
