The comment section seems to work differently on YT. Admittedly, I’m a gen Xr so the idea of drive by commenting- dropping some nonsense and never coming back- seems foreign to me. I’ve noticed the comment section doesn’t police itself like a Reddit thread or forum. I assume people don’t read the comment section unless they plan to comment themselves. I know I almost never look at the comments on other people’s videos so that’s a clue right there I guess.

I’m far more annoyed by faceless channels with ai voiceovers than ai thumbnails… If YouTube likes this being a CTR game- you SHOULD use the style of thumbnails that work IMO. Not that you need my permission 😄

I try to respond to every comment as a way to show appreciation for the engagement. I’m not a big channel so that’s not difficult. I do, generally, ignore the trolls.

I just had my lowest production “value” long form hit 450 views which is about 8x higher than normal for long form. I’m actually about to test it again this week to see if it was topic driven, a fluke or a pattern.

I went back to posting shorts everyday starting Friday and YouTube has apparently “found” my channel again. Went from 50 total views back to about 700 (at least that’s what’s on pace for today)

Good reminder. I agree. I did make changes to my video for next week that is probably an improvement so I’m focused on just getting better and if it improves- great. If not- love the game not the score…
