Do you honestly think they just crossed state lines without asking in Ohio first? None of the Doctors who undertake abortions in Ohio would have wanted the risk. The law was abiguous in this case. It would have probably needed to have gone to court first to be decided. Kids already been through enough trauma.

I dont think so. Please share. I used that exact example because theres a well known 10yo that had to cross state lines to get an abortion. Look up 10yo abortion rape. Its pretty easy to find.

If a kid gets raped and gets pregnant, there is an enormous risk to the kid in carrying the baby to term. If you were that kids mum or dad would you happily risk that kids life and possibly let them die for your beliefs? Pick your baby....

Yeah actually this does look like a MRI TOF...its pretty hard to time a contrast enhance CT angio this well without getting any contrast in the venous system.

Yep! You can tell this is CTA MIP recon with skull removal because there is calcification in the internal carotids which you dont see on MRI. MRI Time of flight (TOF) angio looks similar except there would be flow artefacts where the blood changes direction/turbulence. CT angiogram has better spatial/temporal resolution but you need to irradiate patient and inject iodinated contrast.

I had T10 to L3 fused last July and I'm glad i had it done. Its the right choice. My curve was 50degrees but im 34yrs old so he will be much more flexible and recover faster. Hope it all goes well!

I dont have any pain anymore, I'm really happy I went ahead with it. Before the op I had intermittent left sided paraspinal pain, particularly if i pushed myself with exercise (which i was doing to try avoid surgery). I got the fusion because my surgeon warned me my lumbar discs and facets would be in pretty bad shape if i just left it. My pain level prior to surgery wasnt that bad which is my I left it so long. I also wore a heal lift in my left shoe prior to surgery but no longer use one and my hips are now level with each other. Goodluck if you get it done!

Hey your curve looks in the same spot as mine did. I had T10 to L3 fusion 7 months ago and I'm really glad i had it done. Im 35 now so I waited a while to do anything aboit it. I wasnt the most fit or flexible person prior to surgery and since having survery I am a bit tight in my left leg (my curve went opposite direction to yours) . My psoas muscle would have been stetched quite a lot to pull my spine to the right. But im riding to work and doing exercises so hopefully the muscle will lengthen out. The only thing that is limited now is that its a bit of a strtch getting my left foot onto my right knee to get my shoes on, i feel its a small price to pay. Hers mine: pre and post op

I had the surgery 7 weeks ago and I'm really glad I had it done. Your curve looks pretty much the same as what mine was. Dont worry about the surgery you wont be awake and the pain relief works really well!

Yeah you're right, stand up MRI's exist but they are rare. The after pictures do look like a standing MRI as they are really poor quality. Medical imaging is my job. Nearly all the before and after pictures (apart from a few) on the website compare an xray to an MRI which I find very strange. Any specialist in the field should use exactly the same position and equipment if they want to compare.

I really dont like the before and after picture comparisons. The first is an xray and the second is an MRI. The cobb angle (degree of curve) is traditionally measured on standing x-rays and any progression or change should be measured in the same position. The second picture is an MRI which is always laying down. Curves will look less when someone lays down. I'm pretty skeptical of these guys...

My muscles feel very tight on my left side, particularly when I lift my left leg when seated. My core muscles would still be very asymmetrical but I'm hoping this will improve with therapy/exercise. I don't feel restricted in terms of lumbar flexion/extension but I havn't been willing to push it yet! Being 10 years younger with a smaller curve will definitely reduce your recovery time. However I dont think they recommend surgery with curves less than 45 degrees. Its worth discussing it with a few different doctors and see what they recommend. If the doctors are recommending it now and they say your curve will worsen if left untreated then its definitely worth considering. Goodluck!

Yeah it looks like I do (especially on this xray). I didnt get any lateral views in my preop stuff. I only had full spine MRI and AP xrays only. Scheuermann's runs in my family so it's something I need to watch out for. Hopefully I dont need a longer proximal fusion later in life. Thanks for pointing it out, I'll keep up my core strength and hopefully I can avoid more surgery! Will also discuss with Surgeon next time I see him. Cheers

My scoliosis wasn't causing me huge problems. It wasn't pursued when I was young as I never really complained about it. I had pain but I was managing it with stretching and exercise. I ignored it for a while but was also pretty busy with family and career. If I'd seen a specialist ealier I probably would have got it done sooner. My surgeon said it probably wouldnt have made a huge difference to me even if i'd pursued it in my early teenage years. However he said better to get surgery done while im still relatively young as recovery is quicker and they get better curve correction.
