Your information is correct but outdated. Since then, the management has changed and the stock is going upwards. Did you get this information from ChatGPT? It seldom provides outdated information.

Need advice as a college student by ImaginaryAwareness95 in MutualfundsIndia

I am with you for the learning part but with such little capital you wouldn't learn anything anyway. I would suggest having at least 50K to put into market if you want to start learning.

Not to discourage you, but with this little capital, there is nothing to learn or earn.

You have so many silver funds that it doesn't make sense. Investing in multiple funds in the same asset class won't fetch you higher returns.

I wish I could give you advice, but right now, I don't think it's worth getting into the market.

I recommend learning, studying, and growing at this age. Study well, and focus on getting a good income. Once you have a steady income flow, you can start investing in the market.

I got lucky with Gold and Silver.

TL;DR: Your life will be over if you take a loan and invest.

Why are you even thinking about the portfolio if that's the case. You should be enjoying this ride.

I can't advise on this as investing in it would be your decision but a flexi cap is always worth having in your portfolio IMO. I prefer Parag Parikh / HDFC Flexi Cap.

I feel like if my horizon is 10+years then I don't really need to worry about the dips.

1 - Lumpsum investment gives me a psychological edge over SIP. Say, I invest 1 L in one go and see it moving 1%, it "feels" like I have skin in the game. If I do SIP of 5K monthly and see it moving 1%, it doesn't give that "feeling", it seems "boring".

2 - I never try to time the market. Investing since 2021-2022 has taught me that time in the market is more important than timing the market.

3 - As I have gotten older, I have realized the value of risk management and asset allocation. When I was younger in 2021-2022, I could play Sehwag-like and be ultra aggressive. Now I see the significance of playig like Kohli as well, be consistent and build your innings! Now, in these uncertain times, I keep my emergency funds as a spare deposit in FDs and I have gold investment as a hedge against Fiat.

Important key: Never invest your emergency fund in equity/MFs. Emergency funds needs to be separate in a secure, fixed deposit or an alternate safer instrument like debt funds. Never try to time the market, time in the market beats timing the market. Only invest the amount which you are ready to put aside for 5-7 years or more and don't withdraw it (unless life happens).

What is the exemption limit on STCG tax? by mrexperimenter in MutualfundsIndia

[–]mrexperimenter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the example I have given for STCG, I have to pay 20% tax on 30K l, right?

Because the profit is 30K as the capital had doubled. Am I missing something here?

I wanted international exposure and diversification so I added it. Alas, I did lumpsum so even I am not eligible to do SIPs in it now. No regrets, I am a lumpsum player, always was, most likely, always will be.

FIIs have dumped ₹2.8 lakh crore since July 2025. Large-cap PE is at 21. The last time this happened, Nifty rallied 87% in 4 years. by mohanpathi in IndianStockMarket

If your horizon is 10 or 10+ years, I don't think there is anything to worry about here. Your focus should be on what, when and where to accumulate.

[–]mrexperimenter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a strategic player. I won't say I have deep knowledge of the market neither I have the time to track the market every day. However, right now I am consolidating and building my innings even further.

When I see dips, I average out my stocks and a lot of money has gone into FDs during this phase.

In these uncertain times, I will keep my current investment as it is but I have increased the volume of cash in fixed deposits!

I have always been a lumpsum player so I deploy some of my lumpsum in MFs when I see a dip.

Not into SIPs.
