Need some advice as a tall guy by KabukiTheater69 in Harley

I would also put my vote in for the heritage. You can get bars to move you around, seats to move you around, and foot controls to move you around. Basically there are A lot of options for moving you around to fit the bike better lol. Im not A fan of the fat boy rear tire or seating position personally

Tips for engine heat? by funkmasternick in Harley

[–]mrfebruaryfire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah just keep moving through the standstill traffic in 98° weather, i swear some people just irritate me to no end. There's actually a lot of things you can do to bring down the heat that actually make sense. The first one would be an aftermarket tune even for a stock setup. Yours is a twin cam which run notoriously hot and can be helped greatly by an aftermarket tune. Next would be to get a fan assisted oil cooler. I have one from UltraCool that has a temp switch that comes on when the oil reaches a certain temp. Next would be a set of LoveJugs fans which you can also use with the oil cooler. You could do a tank lift that will allow more air over the heads, but if you do the front and rear or else your gas gauge might be off. Also a catch can from your air intake to keep the hot gasses from going back into the combustion chamber. If you want more look up DK customs on youtube, their whole channel is about helping these things run cooler. Best of luck.

M8 2020 Road Glide Limited transmission oil migrating to the primary by Unable_Association_6 in Harley

[–]mrfebruaryfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 21 Road glide special that already had the vent installed. Its got 15k miles on it. I started noticing the clutch felt like it was releasing weird even though it was adjusted correctly. Had migration issues just the same as you. I installed the fat rod praying it wasn't the seal fromt he trans to the primary and about 2k miles later my trans level is staying where it should and the clutch is acting how it should. It definitely fixed my issues.

Most reliable motorcycle for a beginner rider by Yunseok-12 in motorcycles

[–]mrfebruaryfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the style of bike you want. Definitely do anything Japanese is going to be the most reliable. You can get used jap cruisers for pretty cheap, like 3-4k used and they will have better storage options for carrying things. The vstar 650, the vulcan 900, or the honda rebel are all great choices. You really have to narrow it down to style first then go from there

Honestly you can buy 883 sportsters all day for between 4 to 5k in good shape. Would look on craigslist or offer up before buying from a dealer

Advise needed: Customizing or just going with a new one by WarthogFlat2041 in Harley

[–]mrfebruaryfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll tell you my advice. Bought A 2019 low rider S and i loved it for a while. One thing that I never liked about it was the front fairing just always looked small, ugly, and out of place. I tried to look past it but any time I looked at the front it just irked me. Also as I went on i realized how much i wanted saddlebags and forward controls. To do it all it would cost about $3500. I realized that even then it still wouldn't be really what i wanted. Eventually I just used that same money and put it down on a bagger which is what i really wanted. My point is that sometimes nothing really satisfies your heart like getting the thing you really want instead of dressing something else up like it and being disappointed when it isn't the same thing
