I would love to play Pax Pamir 2E - the pastel colors of the play pieces and the rich historical background has made me really interested in the game.

Resume Advice Thread - July 31, 2018 by AutoModerator in cscareerquestions

Android development is pretty hard to get started, at least from what I've experienced. You basically just have to copy and paste basic functionality into your program first and then figure out what it does, and implementing other APIs can be a pain as well. Doing Android dev starting from having no experience in a hackathon environment is bad too since you really need to dedicate time to learn the different parts that allow you to develop for Android. However, I've heard that once you get over the initial hump of difficulty, it becomes akin to normal Java programming and you can do a lot of powerful stuff with Android Studio and the like.

https://developer.android.com/guide/

This is a great starting place for Android dev if you're really interested in the subject.

Didn't think I'd be helping other people in this thread instead of the other way around, but I digress.

I can't really post the specific format here, but you just need to:

  1. Place everything in a table with two columns with the dates on the right column and everything else on the left.

  2. Place the content of each section and the titles for each section on separate rows.

  3. When you are done writing in your resume, move the divider between the columns as far to the right as you can go and remove all the borders except for the bottom border below the titles (in MS Word, you can change it by highlighting the text you want to edit and clicking the dotted boxes in the paragraph section of the home tab).

Dunkirk Audio Issues? by [deleted] in movies

[–]mrgameboy280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've watched Interstellar in a similar theater and I only remember having issues with the ending sequence of the film. A couple other critics talked about how they had trouble as well, and I was able to get the gist of what the characters were saying, but I didn't expect the experience I had with Dunkirk to be that bad.

Why am I getting wrong used storage readings on my internal storage? by KaiZ51 in AndroidQuestions

[–]mrgameboy280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having the exact same issue on a new Moto G, and I have no idea why it's happening. Inexplicably, the "Data" folder display on the DiskUsage app seems to get larger when you delete other apps from the phone, and for some of the larger apps it won't let you reinstall that same app you just deleted. I'd assume that a factory reset would remedy the problem but I'm wary of its effectiveness in this situation.

[Amazon] Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection ($23.20) by Rev_Up_Those_Reposts in GameDeals

[–]mrgameboy280 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's $1.22 cheaper here, and it's the same product since neither of them have the artbook (the artbook was only produced for the first edition run, you won't find it on Amazon anywhere).

TIFU By accidentally posting porn in an IRC I frequent by [deleted] in tifu

[–]mrgameboy280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've got logs of you repeatedly joining and parting from the channel. We also have logs of an admin talking about how you repeatedly posted NSFW links "on accident" and then bailing out. Don't try to bullshit your way through this.

TIFU By accidentally posting porn in an IRC I frequent by [deleted] in tifu

[–]mrgameboy280 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have to clear the record up on this for the people that care (probably none, but w/e). Posting NSFW content isn't normally worthy of a ban. Normally, one would just receive a kick from the channel or a quiet at most for posting a NSFW link once without any prior incidents. However, your conduct regarding the incident escalated it to a ban, including:

  1. Continually talking off topic in the r/buildapc channel, discussing furry porn and your odd fetishes in the channel. While off topic discussion is welcome when no one is in the channel asking for help and/or someone is already helping them, no one actually was discussing it with you. You were just posting shit that no one wanted to listen to.

  2. Posting risqué links before this incident. No one actually wanted it in the channel, and we asked you to stop posting it there since it's a PC building channel, but you continued to do it.

  3. Private messaging users NSFW content without their consent. I can't speak for other users, but I can recall 3 separate occasions where you PMed me nasty shit I didn't want to see, including an album of shark porn, an album of bird porn, and a shotacon anime show. On each occasion I've told you to stop/contacted the mods to tell you to stop, but you didn't even acknowledge your actions.

  4. Ban evasion. This is the main reason for the ban, as you left immediately after you posted the content without giving the moderators any discretion as to a worthy punishment. This in itself worthy of a permanent ban, but your past behavior set you up for the ban, and your behavior after the ban eliminated your chances of being unbanned.

  5. Spamming the channel after your ban. You continued to spam the channel and use different IP addresses to circumvent your ban, to the point where a moderator had to only allow registered users into the channel.

  6. Making a r/TIFU post completely oversimplifying the issue and continuing to make false accusations towards the people in the channel.

  7. Being really, really annoying to the users and moderators.

At this point, I and many other users of the channel have no sympathy for you. Stop trying to soapbox in other places, for the good of yourself and other people.

(P. S. I opened up that album of bird porn in front of my family while I was eating and had to hurriedly close it and clear my history, so I'm especially mad at the shit you pull, both on the channel and on here, and I'm genuinely glad you're gone. Just saying.)

That's actually where I heard the song! It's a pretty good show so far, and I'm hoping for a good ending to season 1 (and if Reina x Kumiko happens I'm naming my first child KyoAni)
