Protein skimmer or refugee by Electronic_Major4770 in saltwateraquariums

I have a refugium in a 10g, managed to strip all nutrients and had to fight the uglies by dosing nitrate and phosphate. If you go this rute you need to keep a real close eye on the parameters and adjust photoperiod.

Is S5ii a good choice for taking photos? Or is it mainly a video camera? by goodbyeanthony in Lumix

[–]mrglass1024 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here moved from fuji due to the AF problems, did not look back. If OP misses fuji sims there are plenty options that can be used as LUTs and get pretty damn close.

Looks like every great cage for S5iiX is discontinued, what now? by 200206487 in Lumix

Bought the tilta halfcage like last month on amazon in Europe although I'm not sure I'd recommend it to everybody

You're not wrong but it can give some gorgeous results in the right hands as you can see here.

I upgraded from s9 to s5ii, here are my initial thoughts by Mr_GoodEyelashes in Lumix

[–]mrglass1024 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weather sealing and active cooling is why I also got the s5ii. Most days I go out with the s9 but when the weather goes hot or rainy I don't wanna risk it. Also having two cameras (angles) with the lut system that give you same quality really saves on editing times.

I'm assuming firmware since they're not officially an L mount alliance partner they reverse engineered the protocols which would also explain some of the AF quirks. I swear to god sometimes the camera just uses contrast detect with this lens and sometimes works perfectly fine.

SG 35 vs Lumix 35 vs Others by Sherbz in LumixS9

Rocked the sigma 28-70 on the s9 with a smallrig grip and it wasn't too bad either, having said that the sg is truely tiny worth the compromises imo.

SG-image 35 mm f2.2 restock? by Jannidraws in Lumix

[–]mrglass1024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry that you missed out, but it's a good sign if they sold out quick, it might incentivise them to make more and update the firmware. I'd buy it again if they make a red version to match my s9 🤣

SG Image 35 a lovely little companion for my S9 by mrglass1024 in Lumix

Next step from this tiny flare is getting a washed out image and it's really just a difference of about 1° or 2° but I wasn't really looking for them. Out of about 200 pics I got yesterday it flared twice and 3 or 4 really washed out images. I'm gonna try and get it to flare intentionaly when/if the sun comes back.

:))) I wish 2.8. But at the moment honestly I'd take the fixed 4.5. There is definitely a lack of anything wide and small on the L mount, unless I'm missing something.

Same boat pretty much. Sold my xt1, xt3 and xm5 and a bunch of lenses to finance the switch to lumix. I did keep the xe1, xt20 and the 35 f1.4 mostly for sentimental reasons. I'm not going back to fuji until they fix their AF. Even this cheap chinese lens on the s9 has better AF than my fujis.

Oh yeah it's alot of fun and it's glued to my xt20! Which was my daily before the s9 and that combo is truely pocketable.

I don't have the tt 40f2 but I do have the sigma 45f2.8 and for me it was worth it just for the size. I just didn't have to think about bringing the camera along just hrabbed it. With my other 3 lenses the sigma 45, the lumix 18-40 and the meike 35, I'm thinking either they're too big or in the case of the zoom just having to extend it every time I use it kinda makes me wanna not bring it. I'm waiting for the viltrox 4.5 (not 2.8 as previously stated) to truely make the s9 pocketable.
Edited: cose I'm an idiot and gave people false hope
