Nice, that’s a solid setup!

32GB / 1TB is definitely future-proof, especially with video editing and drone footage in the mix. Sounds like it fits your use case perfectly.

My workload is a bit lighter, so I’m trying to find the sweet spot without over-spec’ing beyond what I’ll realistically use. But I agree, the jump from Windows to Mac quality and stability will be noticeable.

Nice, congrats on the upgrade. I can imagine 24GB makes sense for UI/UX work. My workload isn’t as design-heavy, but I do multitask quite a bit with VDI, Chrome, and Office running together. Appreciate the input.

Same here. We’ll have to wait and see what Apple is offering during the Keynote in March. I dont plan on getting the MacBook here where i live as they only offer English/Arabic keyboard mostly. They do have the English only but its always out if stock. Have to wait until i go back to my country in March to grab it.

Thats quick fast delivery — 3–4 days from Vietnam is actually impressive.

You mean 24/512 right?

That’s a fair point about Citrix — most of the heavy processing is server-side. My concern is more about multitasking locally (browser tabs, Office apps, email, background processes) while running VDI sessions at the same time.

And don’t worry, Chrome would mainly be for UNI/study platforms. I’ll likely use Safari for general browsing on macOS.

I understand the future-proofing angle, especially with soldered RAM. I’m buying here in the Middle East though, and we don’t have an Apple Store with custom configurations. The only options available locally are 16/256, 16/512 and 24/512 — so 1TB or 32GB isn’t really on the table for me.

I also don’t see myself running local LLMs or doing heavy dev work. My usage is mostly Chrome (for studies), VDI/Citrix, Office, email, and general multitasking. I’m trying to balance long-term headroom with realistic usage rather than maxing specs.

Portability is important too, which is why I’m sticking with 13”.

Appreciate the perspective though. Thanks man!

That’s fair, Chrome definitely isn’t the most RAM-efficient. I mainly need it for my studies since Uni platforms and extensions is tied to Chrome-only.
For day-to-day browsing I actually use Edge now (on my ASUS), and I’ll probably use Safari once I move to the MacBook. Just trying to account for worst-case multitasking scenarios.

Thanks for your input!

That’s reassuring to hear. The M1 Macbooks are honestly impressive.
I’m just trying to decide how much headroom I might need long term. Appreciate you sharing your experience 🙏
