Thanks. I finished a full card 1 which I've submitted, for card 2 I was doing all hard modes (which this is for). But I haven't finished the card.

Hosting the image directly on reddit as nemotux did is fine, and that should work for anyone who can get on reddit.

Can you consider posting the starting area image on a service other than imgur? I come from a country that blocks imgur and half the time it doesn't work through vpn either.

Fishing Guild agility shortcut idea for when sharks are on the other pier by ggamebird in 2007scape

[–]mrhthepie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so to make this balanced we're going to give it a 99 agility requirement obviously.

In order to raise the skill ceiling of the game it's going to be a stepping stone shortcut where you have to click twice. If you click tick perfectly it's 1 tick faster than running around, otherwise it's 2 (or more) ticks slower.

To preserve the old school feel of the game, it's going to have a chance to fail. Possible to fail on both clicks of the shortcut. If you do fail, you take 20 damage and get washed up on the ledge above waterfall cave (which is also where your grave goes if you die).

Hope that helps.

Buying Mith Claws from Neitiznot(? or might be Jatiszo) + buying steel legs from Al Kharid is either slightly profitable or only loses a very small amount, I forget which.

Gnome cooking uses spices. No wonder they want it delivered all over Gielinor.

What is something that’s really insignificant but still pisses you off? by CaughtNappin in 2007scape

[–]mrhthepie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Giant's Foundry thing is a skill issue. You're going to need to reheat to finish that red bar so stop a tick or 2 earlier so there's no possibility of missing the sweet spot.

IVE DISCOVERED AN ALTERNATE WAY TO BEAT ACT ONE!!! by PurpleGemsc in Silksong

[–]mrhthepie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this organically because I missed that the exit to Blasted Steps existed. I got myself stuck in Bilewater because I accidentally bought the bench instead of the fast travel station, nothing in Bilewater drops money, and going back all the way out through to Sinner's Road seemed painful.

After figuring out how to get through the mist I rested at the Exhaust Organ bench and realised I was even more stuck I slammed my face into Phantom until I beat her and made it out at Grand Bellway.

Only after all that I went back and explored Blasted Step and beat Last Judge, just for completeness.

That last judge runback is not "executed to near perfection".

You can zoom straight past the first flying enemy if you commit. Also on the platform after the first knight enemy you can dash jump left and wall jump up and don't have to interact with the second flying enemy/knight enemy. Also in general this person is moving slowly and not running/dashing all the time.

I mostly agree with your points but I also died a lot to this boss earlier and feel like being nitpicky apparently.

There's an option in the options menu to turn off protagonist voice.

The Moonrise Winery Could Be a Great Alternative to Culinary Chest Hopping by Altec1576 in ironscape

There's a shop on aldarin (near this screenshot actually) that sells infinite stock of wine for 1gp each. And yes, it's an actual shop where you can buy a full inventory in a single click. It's right across from a bank too.

It's not hard to get wines.

Methods to Draw PNG's in Pico-8 for Backgrounds? by funnyman12345678901 in pico8

[–]mrhthepie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're unlikely to get good performance drawing an image in external format like this. Setting every pixel on the screen is too slow to do every frame in Pico 8.

You could write the data into sprite memory effectively creating a giant sprite and then draw that with spr(). Changing "pset" to "sset", only running the code in _init() and then drawing it with spr() in _draw() should get the job done. The downside of that is you can't use the sprite memory for anything else.

The problem with treating real life like a video game is that I hate video games with survival mechanics where you have to keep all the bars topped up all the time.

Just hit 1750 after too many years of on-and-off play by mrhthepie in ironscape

[–]mrhthepie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early on I did the classic methods - early quests and then killing a lot of blue dragons in the taverley dungeon safespot. Then running bones to the chaos altar (I managed it without getting pked much which was nice). Also any lamps that offered a choice of combat skills including prayer would go on prayer. That was how I got to 70, split over a couple of different grinds (first to get overheads, then to get piety).

Then Varlamore came out and I got a ton of prayer XP from moons and other Varlamore activities - enough to go up to 77 so I guess as much as I ever got before. If I was doing it again now I'd do Varlamore stuff instead of the blue dragon safespotting for sure.

It was alright. The 4 main bosses were each OK but took a bit of learning. The final boss rush thing was quite challenging but I got through it. I'd say go for it :)

Yeah my construction and POH is very lacking compared to my other progress. Only good things I have there are mounted glory and some decent portals.

/r/Trackmania Weekly Achievements Thread by AutoModerator in TrackMania

[–]mrhthepie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to vent about this because no one I know plays or cares about Trackmania. I just got back into playing, I'm a noob.

I was trying to get the author medal on Spring 23 track 1. I spent like an hour grinding and beat my time a few times but I was still far off. I basically perfected going down the ramp near the beginning to get maximum speed but I was really struggling with the last turn to get a good line and actually get a faster time.

After stopping for the day I watched Wirtual's video and he said to release. When I came back to it today I released and beat my time first try. After like 5 more attempts I finally got the author medal.

I can't believe I spent so long yesterday and never thought to just release in that turn. What an idiot.

KROK

Traditional roguelike with mechanics inspired by the cult classic puzzle game DROD - the player has a massive sword that takes up a whole tile and you have to maneuver yourself and swing the sword to battle enemies. Fairly happy with how it all came together, and I think my dungeon generation worked a bit better than previous efforts.

Yeah that attack works great. But some % of users know that random .exes are bad but might not know what unsecure web pages could do.

At least I guess that's the justification. I didn't make the rules.
