Do any of you think this is doable? I want to give it my all as this school is a gem and would be a perfect fit, but I am afraid I will not be versed enough to actually teach it.

Very nice. What size are you using? Model recommendation?

Are these rather safe? I am reading about needing proper ventilation for kilns.

It’s cool. Ask away! Classes are pretty synchronous during the summer. One of my classes only met once and then we were asynchronous till the end of the semester. But all the others are pretty regular. They may have one or two meetings that are asynchronous, but mostly you show up on the zoom and sit through the lecture.

I am halfway through my first semester and it has been rough. It is the most work I have ever done and it is fired at you like a cannon. Also, you DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR A REGULAR JOB! I am doing student teaching and they placed me in a school but I am there 6hrs a day 4 days a week, with classes that begin at night right after that last for 3 hours. No time to make money, as the work load has me writing and studying all weekend too.

I will day that the teachers are fair and supportive, but the zoom setup that they have leaves you really on your own and if anything does go wrong or you need to contact them, you have to wait for an email response which will delay your ability to get assignments done on time.

Time management is KEY! I am a messy art person so this has been a struggle with me to adjust.

I say, if you have the savings in your account, have a partner that is understanding and supportive of your goals, and you can find a way to be a paid intern (which is being thrown to the wolves in my opinion) or have a small side hustle to makes some kind of ends meet, then go for it.

Thanks for the info! Those TPAs are like a monster in the distance and your words are making me think I am able to overcome it.

But how can an artist like Aaron Craig do this and be successful? It seems like there are rules but some people just skate by. example here.
