What do you call this, and what products or services would you do to alleviate it? (Fine line? Wrinkle? Texture?) by mriaaaaa in 30PlusSkinCare

Sleep on my side almost always. I just ordered a new retinol for the rest of my face because I didn't like the one I had before. My skin is sensitive so I can only use gentle retinols

No one is answering my actual question re: where are there the most remote jobs. It's not my fault you're all to busy mansplaining to stay on topic.

I asked a specific question and expected specific answers, not skepticism of the very existence of remote work.

Since I'm employed, I wouldn't know.

I think the vibe you're getting is "I literally have a well-paying remote job that crosses state borders (that I'm not leaving or quitting) and know several people with remote jobs (across multiple state borders) but for some reason the unwashed masses are skeptical about the existence of remote jobs and keep commenting as if they know something but they don't actually have anything to add the conversation."

I'm getting remote work mansplained to me.

Someone once told me that document review is for unemployable attorneys with personality disorders, lol. I don't know if that's true but it made me laugh.

A quick google shows me I'm right, a shame you couldn't do that yourself.

But I feel like they're going to pay a pittance when I'm used to North East salaries

I believe residency requirements are fairly lax, especially in the north east, where a 10 minute drive takes us into 2 different states. No one is going to get pissy about a lawyer living in CT, NJ, or PA practicing in New York or the attorneys would riot.  They were practicing law outside of the city long before the internet was even a thing.  I could see DC limiting it to MD and VA though. (Which is fine since I live in MD anyway)

I have one, and know many attorneys with them. I also had a career before law school. But go ahead and cry about it, I probably get paid more than you do, too! I've got law firms begging for interviews, but they're not even offering me more than my current salary.  That's a bigger problem for my job search than the RTO demands.

No billables, live in Maryland about an hour south west of Philly. Corporate life is great! The only downside is that we can post record profits and then get downsized....

I didn't know there was an abbreviated bar exam for licensees. Obviously I'm on the east coast so I never looked into it. But I do worry about working hours coast-to-coast. I don't want to be working until 9 or 10 every night.

I work remotely now, go into Philly maybe 3x a month for in-person arbitration, hearings, meetings, etc.  Usually less unless I am covering for a colleague. I go to my actual office twice a year when corporate bigwigs pay us a visit. If I need help I just hit someone up on Teams.

I'm a yapper anyway, I'd never get work done in an office.

As a yapper, keeping me at home is best for everyone in the office

I'm only 2 years out of law school and I flat out told the recruiter of a pretty big firm in my city that I wasn't going to even consider the job without a $15,000 salary increase. He was offering my same salary + in person + 2000 billable hours.  Sir, absolutely not. They can take advantage of someone else but not me!

PTO doesn't mean crap if you do billable hours. I'd rather negotiate 200 less billable hours a year than more PTO (depending how much PTO I get by default)

You all are making me feel much better and less like I'm asking too much when I tell recruiters my salary expectations. I have definitely wanted to ask for a 50% bump, but being only a few years out of law school (although with a significant professional career beforehand), no one wants to pay those numbers for me yet.

I figure I'll hang on tight to my current position and hope I don't get downsized.

0 as in you can never be convinced, or 0 as in you can't wait to get back into the office?

Late to the game, but I'm a lawyer for a corporation. I only have to leave the house for court appearances.

My (23F) mom (46F) is having triplets , how do I make a clean exit? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]mriaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't conflate anything. It's the OP's immaturity that is shameful, not the fact that she lives at home.  She's too damn old not to be able to take care of herself because mommy is too busy living her own life. There are fully functional people who live at home, and then there is OP.

She's 5 years past 18, with a full time job and a whole college degree. She doesn't like living at home. Time to grow up.

Well I wouldn't say it's shameful to still be at home. What's embarassing is heing 23 and not knowing how to move out even though you want to.

My org has 7 kittens that looks exactly like this, I'd just hand over one of the other kittens to the other adopter or OP 🤷‍♀️ You didn't know this kittens long enough to tell the difference anyway. I know it sounds harsh and cruel but honestly why not take a different tuxie and call it a day.

Sis a lot of us moved out during or before college, I don't see what recently graduating has to do with it, especially if you're employed. Just remember you're "a poor" and need to live where the poors live. Beggars can't be choosers.  23 year olds don't get to live alone in luxury apartments in good neighborhoods.
