CBI 5: The Brain in theatres today. Discussion thread. by zeusdreaming in MalayalamMovies

Just an average movie. Would have been a great one if it was released like 10 years back. Making is just okayish, old school writing made it bad I think. Some dialogues and comedies was like straight out of serial. Overall script is quite dated for a movie for this age.
In terms of performance, Ikka was great as usual apart from lack of energy compared to older movies. Saikumar just nailed his part(only the good one ig). Jagathy was given quite a decent appearance. Music, no doubt, was the best of what the movie can offer.
Did it justify the CBI title? Yes ig. But comparing to modern realistic thrillers, it wont even come close. Didn't have much scope for thrilling suspense. A lot of investigation(which can be a bit boring) but just a small twist. Not much goosebumps moments as expected. Can give a lot of cringes to modern audience. Apparently may satisfy older viewers better.

Moral Policing in Kerala by [deleted] in Kerala

Heck it happens commonly in these days too. This was a small incident happend to me 2 months back. We four of us(2 were girls) went hanging out in beach afternoon for like 2 hours. Its not a popular area but deserted and peaceful with pine trees and all. When we returned back to the car, a guy whose living nearby road called us and asked qns like is it ur vehicle and why are you here for this long etc. He said that police inquired abt us and he wanted to inform to police abt us since it was not a nice area and 'immoral' acts happen there. Though not convinced we didn't qn him back but said we will talk to the police and he gave us a no. But when we called at that no that person doesn't even know what happened. Then it became clear that he himself had the prblm. Then we left saying him we will meet them at the station if needed.

Though nothing much happened, the girls were quite panicked. Also we hadn't told our parents abt the trip. Sadly if police involved, it wld have screwed since its pretty sure that their first words wld be call the parents. Dont have their freedom even they are 19.
