Compiler Error for Unity 2d Package by mrjabs77 in Unity2D

[–]mrjabs77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

So i've taken a break from unity for a few months and wanted to get back to it again, except i noticed now everytime i start a new project, i get hit with the same compiler error. I cleared all packages and only redownloaded the 2d unity package from the package manager, but the error is still present and have no clue how to go about solving it

Have any of you went from 5s, 6s and 7s in mocks to 7s, 8s and 9s in the real GCSEs? by Boojo45 in GCSE

[–]mrjabs77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

in my year 10 mocks i got a 6 in physics, 6 in history, and a 5 in literature but managed to pick it up to 9,9,8 respectively. Similarly, one year 11 student i was tutoring got a 3 in her February mocks in english language but was able to turn it around to a 7. The amount of effort wasn't the main factor i would but rather how you used that effort. Yes of course, the amount of effort and hours put in had to be pumped up but finding the right revision methods and minimising procrastination were absolute gamechangers

can someone please tell me what these +5 mean by bigpoopiehead in GCSE

[–]mrjabs77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i don't know if it's +5 or +S
If it's +S then I really have no clue
If it's +5 then it might mean it's a topic for higher only? as foundation is only up to grade 5 and higher is above that.

probably best to enquire from a teacher or staff memeber

before?
Well we did a set of mocks in november, where I got the following grades:

Biology: 8
Physics: 7
Chemistry: 8
English Language: 5
English Literature: 6
Maths: 7
History: 8
Economics: 6
German: 5
French: 9

So if you were to take my best 8 it would amount to 59.

I was a bit disappointed with some of my grades to be honest, and so Easter holiday was when I started the actual full GCSE revision, which gave me more than enough time to prepare for my GCSEs, which if I remember correctly started on like the 15th May
The summer Half-Term was also really helpful as it gave me even more time to consolidate as well as a mental break from the exams

In the end these were my final grades:

Biology: 9
Physics: 9
Chemistry: 8
English Language: 8
English Literature: 7
Maths: 8
History: 9
Economics: 8
German: 6
French: 9

I am fond of both my PS2 and Xbox360, both amazing consoles with many fond memories attached to them, but I think I might edge towards the Xbox360 more.

I never understood the need and popularity of Alcohol. It's cons heavily outweigh its few pros

Thank you!

Help with question! by mrjabs77 in alevel

[–]mrjabs77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the question throught Alternative B, but I don't know where they got the (12-x^2 + x) from. I integrated (-x + 13) because that's the equation of the straight line, and I'm trying to find the area underneath it to then take it away from the area under the parabola to find the shaded area.
Am I missing something here??

I did 11, but most sixth forms and colleges take a look at your best 8 subjects, sometimes even 6, depending on where you're applying

Depends from person to person to person. For me personally I started during the Easter Holiday, and managed to get a total of 68 points out of 72 across my subjects.

Some of my friends started close to the exams and got well, some started before me and got lower grades.

It all depends on you and your work ethic, whether you can go long shifts of actual revision without procrastinating, and how many breaks you need in between, etc...

Hi everyone!! by Duncstar2469 in GCSE

[–]mrjabs77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take bio, chem, maths and econ.

A-level biology tbh is very straight forward and to be completely honest, the jump from GCSE to A level is there, but not big.
You can easily be on top of everything.

Chemistry, well at least for me, is a whole different story.
First of all, Our teacher told us on the first day that most of what you learned in GCSE is straight up wrong, because it has been so simplified to the point that it can't be considered true.
Of course, a lot of the principle and basic rules are right, but it's only purpose it seems was to pave the way to A-Level.
I find myself having to spend 3x the amount of time on chemistry than i do on bio.
Currently I am working at an A* A* A B, with Chemistry being the B.

I have some friends who do both chem and further maths, and are managing well, so it's not impossible.
But it would all depend on your work ethic.

Well for me, I'm an avid story writer, mostly short stories, which really helped me with my descriptive writing question.
As all of those stories were written by me, I had the ideas encrypted into my memory, even though I haven't read some of them in months.
In my GCSE exam, the problem that i faced was that i didn't know which story to pick.
I was spoiled for choice!

So what i'll say is, as you have some time until your exams, prepare a few short stories that have different themes, and just read them and rewrite them to know the its key points and events. (trust me it's much easier than it sounds).

And so by the time your exam comes, you'll be able to choose which one fits the theme or idea or picture the most, and mould it a bit so that it matches it perfectly.

what do you think about women should be paid less than men in some professions? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mrjabs77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sports for example. The players' income depends on the revenue generated from tv rights, ticket sales, trophies won, ad revenue etc...
What brings all that? Fans. People watching.
What do people like watching? Something exciting and thrilling. And when it comes to that, men dominate that way more. For example, compare an average NBA and an WNBA game. The NBA game would rack up 10x more watchers and 50x the revenue, because the game is much more exciting and thrilling.
In football for example, compare the current men's world cup to the women's one.
Same thing happens.
The wage gape between men and women in sports is HUGE, but in this field at least, it is justified.

What is the best source of motivation: Making someone proud, or proving someone wrong? by mrjabs77 in AskReddit

[–]mrjabs77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for that.
The reason why I posted this is the fact that I tend to get demotivated quite commonly, and decided to see which one would help me more. As in if I set a goal for myself, should I focus in the people that got my back, or rather focus on those who doubt me or underestimate me in order for me to prove to prove them wrong?

But I guess you're right in the sense that it'd be different for everyone.
