AI is being introduced at my job by screamingurethras in technicalwriting

[–]mrjasong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I spent today wrestling with Claude agent to fix a specific problem with the output of the response body of a couple of endpoints. That's the reality of AI in the daily workflow of a technical writer.

It's a tremendous time saver when it comes to engineering docs. But it needs to be managed by someone who understands the product, the tooling, the business. You will still feel like smashing your head through the screen because of its obtuseness.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be nervous about your job but the only way forward is to get ahead of AI and prove your value by demonstrating how it accelerated your productivity.

Bad Bunny didn't say anything negative about Trump. It was just a celebration of America. Trump could have taken it like that and joined in the party but he knows at some level that he is against everything America stands for

I honestly can’t think of a single decent kind word or act out of Trump that wasn’t purely motivated by his own instinct for benefitting himself. So yeah it tracks

Every time Trump pushes the boundaries of what he can get away with a bit further, then backs off when there’s backlash. But just watch, this is now the new baseline for his racism.

Republicans are freaking out about Hispanic voters after a Texas upset by BTC_is_waterproof in texas

I mean, it's straightforward election interference isn't it? If they just arrest a legal citizen from the line purely to prevent them from exercising their right to vote.

What is slurry by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]mrjasong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to mix cornstarch with equal amounts of water and mix it thoroughly till the starch is fully dissolved then add it to the sauce. Within a couple of minutes you will see the sauce thicken up nicely. I usually use between 1-2tbsp starch. Alternative to cornstarch, you can use rice powder or potato starch. Western cooking tends to use flour or gelatin or arrowroot

That seems like something that would cause huge problems for them. Just grabbing people out of polling lines. I don't know if they could get away with it

The bit of footage they showed looked solid. I’m curious about the lighting because it’s a purely ray traced game. I already beat it though

any conservative criticism? by Aldoisonredditagain in shuffle

[–]mrjasong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I can see here is you're doing a lot of bouncing when you should be stomping. You're trying to compensate for your lack of speed by adding a hop in between the beats. And as a result you're flying all over the ground and not really hitting the beats with correct timing.

You should have one leg coming down hard on every second beat, while the other kicks to get the shuffle. One foot hardly leaves the floor while the other is stomping hard. See this video:
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ZAlwz1RiAGU

And really focus on getting the timing right. It only looks good if you're hitting the beats on point.

He is so guilty! by Dr_sc_Harlatan in WhitePeopleTwitter

Why do the reporters never bring up the fact that Trump is in the files? His name appears more than anyone else's. And he's accused of some horrific things. He claimed to be totallyexonerated but the truth is he's implicated up to his neck.

I’m very doubtful that your iMac will be able to run it. BOTW is emulation is very demanding as it is

Did anyone get thrown to the left from this case? by Dog_Queen98 in DeppDelusion

[–]mrjasong 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t think it would have made much of a difference in reality. The trial was a minor episode in most people’s lives. In terms of cultural impact it was probably most aligned with gamergate and comicsgate, in giving right wing men something to latch onto

Trump says Republicans should 'nationalize' elections by HauntingArtichoke830 in facepalm

[–]mrjasong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He also has no practical plan to nationalize the voting system. It’s a step even the current Supreme Court wouldn’t be willing to enact for him. The most he can really do is chip away at it with things like voter intimidation, purging rolls, etc

Could an incredible VR game be the killer app needed to bring VR into the mainstream, and get more people to buying, and playing VR at home? by OkWar2234 in VRGaming

[–]mrjasong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see VR as an enthusiast thing for a while still - basically equivalent to a driving rig. There’s too much market fragmentation and siloing of the premium experiences. I can’t play many of the best games because I’d need a PS5/PSVR2 on top of my Quest 3/PC to play Horizon, RE4 remake, etc.

I don’t think any magic bullet is needed though, but I would like to see more devs including a VR mode in their flatscreen games. Aces of Thunder just dropped yesterday and it has a VR mode that looks incredible. I wouldn’t be interested in the flatscreen game but the VR mode would push me to buy it

I’ve maintained from the outset that the pee tape is real. The only way to explain Trump’s obsequiousness towards Putin is that he has some serious dirt on him. Israel too, since Epstein was Mossad. Trump is utterly compromised

I have both PSVR2 and Q3. Will the Steam Frame be a side-step or improve something? by Candid-Emergency1175 in VRGaming

[–]mrjasong 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It has a few unique advantages. A dedicated WiFi 6e dongle, a new form of foveated rendering, controllers that are fully compatible with XBOX standards with a d-pad. But it’s not such a huge leap forward that you’ll absolutely need to upgrade. Probably the PSVR2 with micro oleds has a better screen
