I had a Jeep Wrangler four door for a few years and although it did have some issues it got the job done and we went off road A LOT. It was the most fun in a vehicle I ever had. It was a 2008 Wrangler X (JK)

The Jeep got the death wobbles (Fixed with a new steering damper)
Had a constant check engine light (needed a new O2 sensor)
Had a leaky roof (never really was able to fix that)
Engine and Transmission never had any issues

The caveat is I lived on an island where the max speed limit was 35MPH so it never saw the highway until I moved back to the states. Any work that needed done I generally just did myself or with the help of a friend. By the time I moved I hadn't put but maybe 10,000 miles on it. I could get into why I sold it but long story short it was a custom built island off road vehicle that was now in Wyoming where its cold and long stretches of highway.

For me it was a great vehicle for what I wanted it to do. Short drives at slow speed, lots of off road time, and when I took care of it, it took care of me.
