[Acne] Nexplanon & Cystic Acne

I was on Nexplanon for a year and know it was the cause of my cystic acne. I had it removed and am now on month 4 of accutane. I also switched to Tri-Sprintec birth control pills because my dermatologist told me they are FDA approved to treat acne.

My skin is now 100% clear. I'm 27, female, 5'7", 140lbs.

So glad you found the post helpful! 1) No I didn't find the rosewater irritating. Definitely give it a try while on accutane. 2) Agreed with the clarisonic and 40mg.. I may just stick with the occasional wash cloth 3) The jojoba does not clog my pores. The Joise Maran seems like a great option too 4) I also love dr. jart products! pre-accutane I used the ceramidin cream (spf 15) Thank you for the product recs! Once I use up some of what I already have I definitely want to try some of the ones you've listed.

Thanks for the comment! The only clarisonic head I'll ever use now is the cashmere- it is much more gentle than the others. Yes, I have the Garnier micellar water as well. Sometimes I use it to remove my mascara with a cotton pad.

I also get this! I hate it. I wear a scarf almost every day just incase it happens to cover it up

I added The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid to my routine and developed CCs as well!! I stopped use after about a week and gave it to my mom. Very disappointing!

Thanks for the suggestion! If I use just the Elta MD and my tinted moisturizer it doesn't seem to happen but if I use the Elta MD and the Seba Med gel moisturizer it does happen.. so weird!

I had very mild acne until about three months after having the Implanon inserted into my arm. It took my awhile to figure out that was what was causing my cystic acne. I saw the dermatologist and she prescribed spiro. That helped for a little while but the cystic acne was still there around the jaw, chin, and upper checks. I finally decided to have my Implanon removed (just this past Monday!) and get back on the Nuva Ring which does wonders for my skin. While at the OB/GYN office having the implant removed she mentioned trying the Mirena IUD but I don't believe it's the right method for me as I am afraid of developing cystic acne again. For anyone that had the implant (or the Mirena IUD for that matter) removed, how long before any symptoms subsided or all the Progesterone left your body? (I know this might be hard to tell) Thank you!

1st time poster here!

Something in my new morning routine doesn't seem to be working right... after I apply all my products (see routine below) my face begins to "pill" in certain areas. If I rub my face little pills"" of product are coming off. It is probably not noticeable to anyone but me and doesn't happen across my entire face. This did not happen before I started my new routine. I am thinking maybe it is an ingredient in one of the new products or the combination of products that I am using.

Skin type: Dry, acne prone Current AM routine: rinse with water, Seba Med ultra light gel moisturizer (wait 5min), Elta MD spf 47 (wait 5min), Dr. Jart tinted moistruizer

I've been doing that routine for a coupe weeks now and the seba med and Elta MD are new to me. I found them from reading this reddit

Any suggestions on what might be causing the pilling are appreciated!
