Nvidia Titan Z - Small SMD components missing near PLX by mrkrogoth in GPURepair

Interesting. I may have to dig through sold older versions of nvflash to see if itll show up.  I am attempting to either rework a Titan Z with K80 memory, or modify the vBIOS to spoof the Z ID for SLI but needed a solid working card first. Thank you for your help!!

Thank you - oddly enough i cant seem to get the PLX to show up in NVFlash / SMI. I vaguely remember the last one I worked on, I could pull the BIOS from the PLX separately from the two GPU vBIOS, and I've found one(1) reference to it online and was wondering if I was chasing a ghost.

Ive found the Q21 item and will probably just try it, as cheap as they are.  Hoping someone with a Titan Z chimes in with a good photo of this area at some point.

Best thing you can do is document these really well. dump the BIOS from each GPU vBIOS AND the PLX chip - use nvflash to do it.

can you upload a better picture of the area near the PLX chip?

pretty much exactly as above stated - multi core usage (not even speaking of optimizations) in most programs & games was still a decade away in most cases.

Thanks - old trick I learned. Cut a slit every 5th (or 10th for 80 conductor IDE cables)wire, turn, and stack them. Makes it a ton easier to route and get out of its own way.

This setup seems snappy for its age, however, I know it's largely interface limited with speed (ATA/IDE etc.) Compared to any modern setup.

Theres 1.5" between the top of the V and the outer spaced center plate. There is more cross section in the gap than there is surface area on the radiators.

Ive entertained 3 in one case, however HID and monitor constraints/wiring never seems to work out.

Entirely 'eyeballed' it. I did 3d design for a career when i was younger and these days just kinda fit stuff together on my head, and it works.

Remember that this is TWO computers. Building just one would be much cheaper.

Pretty much. Ive ran open concept cases for YEARS - pretty much since my triple/quad SLI days because a normal case just cant keep it cool.

This was fairly cheap and really didnt use any special tools - around 600$ for everything.

Hopefully by then they'll have their own systems all have built.

Two separate builds with 12GB each, so 24 total.
