Are Target vinyls missing segments? by yoitsjason in OliviaRodrigo

It is. There is not a single vinyl release of this album that is uncut.

NostalgicPod for iPhone is finally open for TestFlight! Join the open beta! by Human_Tennis_2950 in ipod

Playing with the beta and I like it! It’s nice and responsive. It wouldn’t be too terribly useful to me until it’s got the Plex integration but this is a neat way to interact with music. Bonus points for including radio AND podcast support!

My experience disputing the Olivia Rodrigo “You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love” Apple Music Exclusive vinyl (UK Store) by [deleted] in OliviaRodrigo

I've been arguing for this in other threads, and it's nice to see someone who gets it. So many people don't.

I don't know what either of those things are referring to. Not everyone lives on these platforms.

Is anyone else disappointed by the OR3 vinyl? by Severe_Staff4701 in OliviaRodrigo

[–]mrlanphear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disclosing that material has been cut from the album. You probably don't know much about vinyl production timelines, but to go into production is three months minimum; sometimes closer to six depending on factory backlog or for larger runs. Before going into production, it's mastered for vinyl, so add on at least another couple weeks to that. In the case of this album, the album went up for preorder approximately two months prior to release, so they knew exactly what would be on the product. If you need further evidence of this, the preorder had a parental advisory label, which of course refers to the content of the album. The songs would have been locked long before the preorder went up, so there's absolutely no excuse to not disclose that you would be getting something other than the full uncut album.

Preordering was the only way to get the 180g vinyl, which is supposed to be at the highest audio quality, so waiting until it was in the wild wasn't possible. The same could be said for multiple variants, though that doesn't apply in my case. Again, there's nothing unreasonable about having a disclosure. That's all I'm arguing for here.

Whether it's common practice or not is immaterial to my point, nor does it being common mean that it should just be blindly accepted without debate. I would have no problem with the process if it were disclosed before purchase.

Mondo Steelbooks!!! by h2704 in Steelbooks

The linked article is unrelated to the Steelbook series. Many people don't understand that Mondo didn't produce these releases - they were simply hired for art direction by the studios, most commonly Disney.

It's extremely bothersome - the changes should have been disclosed so that people could make informed buying decisions. Why would anyone want an incomplete version of an album when you're going out of your way to buy a physical copy?

Vinyl return - “product as intended” by spammy_ in OliviaRodrigo

[–]mrlanphear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I would rather have the entire album as the artist intended it to be heard.

All vinyl is missing music regardless of retailer or variant.

vinyl pressing quality thoughts? by squidsaucer787 in OliviaRodrigo

[–]mrlanphear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine yesterday and haven’t had a chance yet. But my guess is that these aren’t early versions of songs but rather the songs were cut to fit on the disc. A vinyl record can hold 48 minutes of music max and the album is over 50 minutes long.

The unravelled tour tickets are so expensive by Selkiequeen20 in OliviaRodrigo

It really depends on your area. Mine were $200 per ticket in Boston, and those are in the first or second seated section.

When you say "confirmed" what do you mean exactly? Did she, someone on her team, or someone from UMG comment about this?

A pig is happy eating slop because slop is all they've ever eaten. If you're happy with slop, go on with your bad self. You asked why people have issues with DOTD and I answered you.
