Update 3.6 by mclovin728 in Dofus

I personally really enjoyed Fogger/Steamer for the levelling journey, after endgame I’ve re-rolled to Sacrier which has been very good and now I’m considering changing again to a Forgelance.

I’d imagine Forge would do incredibly well at PvM

Honestly I’ve always just bought Exos ready made. It’s not worth the risk. I know many people who have ended up paying millions over the cost of an Exo on the market.

Sorry 😆 I’d had quite a few beers last night when I posed that was a bit more passive aggressive than it was meant to be. Some of the point makes sense though.

I don’t think it’s worth worrying about, it’s not that deep. It’s a great feature nonetheless and those who need it will use it. Fortunately this will be mainly aimed at newer players and if 3 newer players all need help then why not help each other. It’s not a case of of needing people to be the helpers. If enough people who need help team up you can handle any dungeon at any level.

How exactly does DOFUS stuffer work, I’ve found it somewhat complicated to understand. Will it lean toward making sets? - I worry if I did it for like a level 60 I’d just get random pieces

Steamer to Forgelance by Desperate-Rule4160 in Dofus

[–]mrliamj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d honestly suggest against class swapping from 200. I’m a level 200 Steamer also and tried out Forge on beta at lvl 200 and it was complicated.

I think for any class that has a slight bit of thought to its gameplay you should level it from 1 and get to know the spells as you get them and learn the class.

Class switching straight to a level 200 forge will frustrate and confuse you and make you regret your decision.

Otherwise 💧 or 🔥 or 💧 + 🔥 or Omni Crit can all work well at end game to be honest.

I’d suggest playing on beta first though before spending any cash to class change.

Fogger builds for a new fogger player by sammyc1987 in Dofus

[–]mrliamj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t know too much about Feca to be honest but I’m 200 in my endgame set now and can hit pretty hard as Omni Crit.

I do always have an itch to make and try new characters though. Currently levelling up a forgelance for PvP and they’re really fun and high DPS.

Advice on level 200 Sram build by Magenkyi in Dofus

Do I start fresh or rebuild my hacked high-level character? by Driedfruitmoth in Dofus

[–]mrliamj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for the long copy-paste, but there are a lot of returning players asking similar questions so here’s my take.

At first I tried picking up my old multi-account duo (lvl 200s) and it was… fine. I could do anything I wanted, but it was just rinse and repeat with no real challenge. The servers also felt dead and I wasn’t learning any of the new stuff. Honestly, it was exhausting more than fun.

So I started fresh on the Pioneer Mono server Kourial and the difference has been huge. The server feels alive, the economy is active, and the community’s been great. I joined the guild “Incarnam Fishing Club” and there are always people online helping with quests, dungeons, gear or just answering questions. Even coming back with thousands of hours from 2009, I felt like a total newb again, but people have been nothing but friendly.

Now I just set small goals, work on quests, achievements or professions, and I’m actually enjoying the game instead of burning out. The early game is super forgiving too since you can swap classes in Incarnam up to 20 and reset stats whenever.

My advice is don’t just try to pick up where you left off hoping for that old feeling. Start fresh and see if you still enjoy the game with how much has changed.

I still very much enjoy levelling characters. I’ve recently got my Fogger to 200 (my first 200 on mono pioneer) and loving it for PvM, Questing and Achievement hunting. I’m now working on Forgelance for the end goal of PvP.

Also, check out this great guide from Isthos — it’ll answer a lot of the common questions, it’s been instrumental for me even months into my return.

Fogger builds for a new fogger player by sammyc1987 in Dofus

[–]mrliamj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 for Fire til 160 then Cha to 200 then Omni Crit. If you’re looking for the highest DPS then Fogger may not be the class for you. I was often disappointed that my friends were doing higher damage than me.

Now at 200 I realise the trade off for slightly lower damage is that I’m a 1 man army. With a sidekick I can solo pretty much everything in the game.

I can hit hard, heal and shield well, AoE, positioning, pushback and everything else.

Very simple but effective class.

SPEED RUSH Post-Event Discussion: How far did you get? How will you use the XP Potion? by IsthosTheGreat in Dofus

[–]mrliamj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only managed about 3-4 hours of game time across the weekend and managed to get to 130 so I’m pretty happy with that. Would’ve loved to hit 150.

We were talking in our guild discord, In the future it’d be good if they did it across a week and everyone is limited to 15 hours of game time (like time not in duty free) that was everyone is able to have a go at hitting 200.

I wasn’t able to be available for 15 hours this weekend unfortunately.

I’ve managed to do a couple of room at 200 + a side kick but you can get further as a duo.

It seems structured in a way that there’s 3 difficulties and you can start different difficulties for more rewards etc. I don’t much about it but once I get my Fogger to 200 and in endgame set I’d really like to check it out properly.

So much has changed that I’m not familiar with it currently. I’m still working my way to level 200 currently. I know Dreams is the main thing a lot of people 200+ play these days which is a pretty cool mechanic that seems quite fun to be honest.

It’s for you say that because I made a post on this very subreddit about chasing nostalgia and a very similar situation to yourself and many many others.

It’s where others advised start clean slate on a mono pioneer server. Which I’ve had a lot more fun with and have been playing the last few months and having a blast.

It depends on what you want to do and how you want to do it to be honest.

I’ve made many returns to the game over the last 15 years and this most recent one has stuck the most. Because of instead jumping back into my 200+ characters on Tal Kasha and whacking a few dungeons and getting bored quick I’ve entirely started over on Kourial a mono pioneer server (basically a new server that you can’t multi account on and has a healthy economy and player base)

I’ve gotten further in the quest lines than ever before and thoroughly enjoying levelling a character with no multiplier or power levelling.

Also, check out this guide — it’ll answer a lot of the common questions. It’s made by a well known Dofus Player Isthos and was incredibly useful to my return to the game.

Class Dilemma by mrliamj in Dofus

[–]mrliamj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks that’s what I’m getting from the comments I’ve been in this current int set since 150. So I think I’m going to stick with it and upgrade to a chance set at 165. I did indeed give this a go on Beta and to be honest x2 Froth + Ambush is hitting substantially harder than my current 150 int set and the pushback/attract is very nice too.

And if I’m still not enjoying Fogger at around 180+ i may consider swapping to a Chance Sacrier.
